Same manager Lukosius & Rozee. Unsure if Rozee is worth being pick 3 though, GC should back themselves in that in two years they'll be showing signs. I understand that it is a worry with the go home factor but don't think going up there with a mate is going to help. All depends on the individual.
Its worth it, if you settle for Rozee who might be 10% worse than the best player available, but he gives you 50% more chance of keeping Lukosius long term I think you take it.
Rozee is also making a lot, myself included, question whether he makes the Fantastic seven an awesome eight

For what its worth, GC has asked about Elliot Himmelberg from the Crows.
Fair Enough , GC has asked about Miles , GHS, Corey Ellis , Townsend too (not under contract). Mitch and Himmrlberg ( tight to contract ) .

A mate that goes to school with Isaac Rankine says he loves getting on it and has seen him off dick many times. Might make clubs think twice before taking him.
An 18 year old that enjoys to party? How terrible! The AFL clubs would have never seen/experienced this:rolleyes:

Would you prefer to have a player that dedicates his weekends to training and maybe having a quiet one every now and then or someone who loves getting on the drugs every weekend... He may be talented but I'm just saying this might effect him in the future.

It certainly will not help his cause, even if it is not a massive shock that he is doing it. I'd say 60-70% of kids would have dabbled in something.

It's a bit situational isn't it? Plenty of players that are now superstars that were party animals. Depending on clubs they may be confident in knocking him out of it, especially if they're out of SA and can remove the mates that are doing this with him

I don't think clubs will be scared to take him as he's an absolute freak but lukosius who goes to the same school looks a lot more switched on. I guess only time will tell, if Rankine is there at our Pick i wouldn't be afraid to take him

FWIW Cal Twomey was asked to put last year's draft and this years draft combined and come up with a top 10 ....in no order he nominated

Walsh, Rayner, Rankine, Kings x2, Smith, Lukosius, Stephenson, Dow & Cerra.

Rumours go here? Bishop (Matt Balmer) reporting:

  • Carlton locked in on Walsh, as has been rumoured for a while.
  • Gold Coast want Lukosius and Rozee, reducing go home factor because they're apparently best mates.
  • Gold Coast not interested in the Kings or Rankine.
  • Bailey Smith expected to fall out of the top 5.

I find it strange that GCS are not interested in the King twins given they just lost Lynch and May... surely the twins are perfect replacements for those 2 and wouldn’t have go home factor if you drafted both of them which you could probably do with pick 3 and 6 allowing pick 2 on best available mid...

Firstly, the go home factor isn't guaranteed to disappear just because they're playing together. They are Vic Metro boys after all. Secondly they aren't going to play for a few years while they're developing and that tends to not work out well for the Gold Coast (see Scrimshaw). Thirdly Lukosius is a better prospect to most draft watchers and is adept on the wing so they don't have to pressure him to play CHB/CHF right away.

Plus the only other truly top mids are Smith who is gettable at 6, and Rozee who fits better with Lukosius.

Also depends what kids GC have coming through their academy. They might have a couple of talls coming through.

As it is they still have Peter Wright, Sam Day and Braydon Crossley to play up forward. Rory Thompson down back with pre-draft recruit Sam Collins. From memory they have an academy KPD they're hoping to draft as well. Quite possibly Lukosius and second year draftee from Charlie Ballard also from SA, will play as third talls in defence and on the wing.
