King brothers are no guarantee to bulk up and thin fwd prospects taken in top ten by us scare me.
Rankine will be a star but the concerns onnoff field and go home factor the problem.
Clearly lukocious be good but I’ve accepted he goes before our pick and are telling myself he will be like jack watts to make myself feel better
I think whatever happens we should bid on blakely - kid will be a star

I hadn't known until just recently that combine invites are actually extended well before they're released to the public. Players were told ~ a month ago. Explains why we get "late" invites.

Tell that to Lukas Webb, there is no half backs, wings or half forwards anymore just transition players who fluctuate between the arcs.
Makes perfect sense to expose young transition players to the full requirements of the position as we saw with young Richards this
season two bags of three goals. Good multi-positional variety is awesome.
Valid point. Putting a specific label on his position is probably less accurate than just calling him an outside/flanker type. I guess this just shows how capable he is at playing the wide range of roles required of a player of that type.
Ripped! Will be a nice size unit in a few years and with his athletic traits and clean skills, could be the pick of the bunch.

Yeh I thought he spoke really well.
His versatility you would think would appeal to Bevo who clearly likes that type.
Hard to judge him on numbers through the carnival and even SANFL level when he has moved about.
But any 17/18 getting 10 marks and 30 touches like he did on the weekend at SANFL level is very impressive.

Wonder if Sydney end up with pick 4 for Hanners and how that could affect us. Anyone think Gold Coast could put an early bid on Blakey meaning one of that 7 slip to us?

They won't get pick 4 unless they agree to pay his huge contract and even then it's a stretch
St Kilda have nothing else to offer, their next pick is 57. They would get picks back for sure but I don’t see how they get him without involving 4.

I liked the look of him last year, even more so this year. Think a couple clubs will be keen on him late or at the very least a rookie pick. Can't see him missing out again
