Does anyone think Murray's rookie spot is anything other than a courtesy until his B Sample is ratified and then his contract is torn up?
He agreed to be put on a rookie contract so that we could use the main list spot in the draft. Least he could do.
Asserting that Murray is 'more valuable' than Broomhead is crazy talk.

The rookie draft is only for Cat As. We had no spots on the Cat A list. We still have time to make him a Cat B.

Unlike Murray Broomhead is one of hard luck/bad luck stories, hopefully he and much more importantly for us shazza get a 3 or 4 year injury free run.

On balance I think that the recruiters have managed a pretty good result. We had limited draft prospects due to finishing the season second so to end up with Beams, Quaynor and Kelly shows pretty good management. Hopefully Atu becomes a live wire up forward. 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting time (again).

I’d suspect there’s a plan of sorts.

Though really carrying one spot on a list is in many ways carrying position 45 or so. Not the biggest issue.
