I guess it applies to pretty much the top 10 at this point also. You don't think we can draft anyone else?
 
Later in the draft, the Saints have been linked to mature-age South Fremantle pair Marlion Pickett and close friend Matthew Parker. Collingwood also flew to Perth to interview Pickett earlier this month.
 
Yeah Ch 7 news pretty much going with Collingwood drafting him. Seemed quite definitive. The Joffa family link is an interesting one. Seems strange that’s been kept under wraps. They said Joffa married Atu’s grandmother.

If we have to pay overs for IQ and Kelly and a bid for Atu comes in before 56 might be tough to get him.

They were also pronouncing his first name as “R2”.

I might be under the influence of a nice Shiraz, but we look like getting IQ and Kelly plus a few others this draft with a range of 40+ picks because we have traded our early picks. IQ seems to be rated a 1st rounder and Kelly a 2nd rounder. We don’t seem to have lost anything? Am I totally off the mark?

Means 2nd round pick will go out further not lose depends how many points in the rears

Only one of the Irish lads is allowed to be a Cat. B Rookie, the other must be Cat. A according to the rules. So (along with Madgen) we'll have used two Cat. B spots, and still have one to spare.

If we have to go into deficit on IQ and Kelly and then even further with Atu then our first pick next year will almost be a 3rd round pick.

We’d have to get creative to improve our draft position in 2019!

Alot can change in 12 months' time....
 
Pie 4 Life is it filtering through anywhere who's invited to the draft tomorrow night? Say if Quaynor is told to go, he could be bid on at 8? Does our recruiting staff iron their shirts knowing they'll be up on stage presenting a player in the top ten?

This is why the split draft is just stupid IMO.

Just adding onto this one. Are they planning on having the entire first round selections on stage tomorrow. Which would mean you'd need maybe 40 players there?

Would suck for all the kids who have to sit through two hours of selections and still have to wait until Friday.

Why would we pass? Who at pick 41 will be better value than a player who some clubs value a top 10-15 pick? Who cares if we go into deficit. Our first pick in 2019 is a second rounder. We can always trade higher into the draft of necessary. I’m hoping that IQ does get bid on in the first round (preferably by the eagles with their first pick) so we have some additional trade currency next year.

So we also don't Rate the 2019 Draft and just take any Deficet we get?

Would be great to know, but not sure if we can trade out a pick in 2020. Hope their is a loophole explored if Quaynor and Kelly go first round.
