I see Brodie's brother played on the week end, does anyone have info on his performance in the champs to date? 194 cm, playing as a backman with elite speed apparently.

Played well I thought. More a stopper at this stage. Had a brilliant run down tackle where he really showed his speed. Didn’t realise how quick he was. Looked up some times and he runs a 2.91 over the 20.

Don’t think he’s a first round selection yet. Maybe 2nd to 3rd. If he adds some rebound, he could move up pretty quickly.

He's good. Athletic, really good user, intercepts and can shut down his opponents.

He's inside my top 40 and fringe of top 30.

I do favour Buku slightly to Quaynor, though they're in the same conversation.

Thanks! Appreciate the insight and response.

Very quickly what are your thoughts on small crumbing forwards in this years draft? With Elliot, WHE, Fasolo, Stephenson etc being more marking types, I wouldn't mind a small crumbing forward at the feet of Cox and/or maybe ...Lynch.

As small forwards.

Rankine and Hill are the two who will get spoken about most.

Atu (Collingwood Academy), Charlie Wilson and Jed Hill from VIC can all play.

Sydney Stack and Jarrod Cameron (WCE Academy - brother of Charlie) from WA are exciting.

Brayden Ham is one I view as badly underrated - very quick but high skill level and doesn't have to just play deep.

There are others in the state leagues.

There are options.

--
Unless there is value in the national draft, Atu as a rookie is one I'd take and give that chance to develop into the role. He's a tackling machine and ground ball winner with the pace. He's developable.

As a high % contested ball winner. I'm really keen for the Pies to get him.

He can be a stronger, more powerful ball winning version of Brad Dick for those who remember him.

Gee, I would love to upgrade our pick to swoop in front of Crows for Rankine. That 55m goal 15m off the boundary was Buckley esque.

I don't think we any chance of landing 1 of the 3 best KPP but upgrading to a pick for Rankine might well be gettable.

Why do you keep peddling Rankine as a "Small forward"? Thats a very very disingenuous role of his (Likely at the behest of crows behind the scenes trying to dilute his pick range), he is a midfielder who an play forward.

Even vs Allies he played further up field and once again killed it. At AFL level he would project as a midfielder would only start forward as he builds his body.

Hill is another who will likely start forward before getting stints on ball as he matures although likely stays forward much longer. Neither are a career small forward and if they do then they are being hamstrung on what they can achieve.

At 180cm. Rankine is a small. As a forward at that height, he's as good as any in the draft. It's also where he has played all of his SANFL League football this season. So there is nothing deceptive about describing Rankine as a small forward.

Rankine I view as a forward who can push through the midfield and go well, play back if he needed to, but ultimately, play his best football as a forward - with that being where he impacts games the most at this stage.

Hill while he has played a lot as a forward has in my view played his best football as a defender - not finding enough of it as a forward or midfielder.

Do you wonder why he went from a gun midfielder in 2017 talked as a number 1 pick to being played in small forwards wasteland in "sanfl" and most of 18 champs over a preseason?

He is a natural line breaking mid in the mold of Peter Matera, he has the ability to play the role of a small forward as well but he is not a career small forward like Betts or Milne.

His descriptor as a "small forward" is deceiving to those who know nothing about his career to date or his capabilities. He is a goal kicking midfielder when given the opportunity to display it, he is also great at connection from midfield to leading forwards, using him purely forward is a waste. Imo he is the type who should be used in the midfield and rest forward or spend parts of quarters forward or as a impact player between the 2 when needed.

I'm not advocating Rankine to be used as a forward pocket, to be clear.

He can push down like that, for sure, but I like him more up around half-forward. And as a half-forward, with the way they push up the ground today, he still would have the opportunity to get up the ground, break the lines and find plenty of it. And that's absolutely what you want him to do, as he is so damaging whenever he has it.

Wing? He can play that also. I just want him more forward of centre because he can kick multiple goals and really hurt teams with his touches closer to goal.

If I was asked 180cm or less. Anyone in this draft to play as a forward pocket. Rankine is still that best guy. It's just not the optimal way to utilise his talent.

Kid is super to watch. Could you imagine having Stevo and him in the same forward line? Would create some big head aches.

If he can start clunking more marks he’ll be a good pick up imo.

IF Moore goes he be a Player I be Targeting in the Draft Simmlar Types and be a Mid to Late 1st Round Pick

Could further imagine 3 years in when he evades 3 players on a wing then bangs a lace out pass down Jamie Elliots throat, then a minute layer bursts from a stoppage after recieving a handball out of the pack by Sier on the hff flank and bangs it home.:D

His game last year as mid come forward was how he will be used after a few preseasons.

Stephenson body work vs May was brilliant last night as an aside kid is a natural.

Not gonna slip to our pick TD ;)

We need to get people hard at work on photoshop having him red eyed with a durry out the side of his mouth, with UDL tinnies in his hands at detchy backyard parties with girls hanging off him doing gangsta signs and frosting across the table.
