They'll bid on Quaynor at 8 just to be pains knowing we'll probably match, even though they'll want Rozee if he's still available.

I hope we Don't match a Top 10 Pick as I don't rate him that Highly

If the bid comes early it proves we were right in trading out pick 18.
Some would argue that trading out pick 18 has given us no option but to take him. If the club was going to match any bid even if we had pick 18 then it was the right move to trade it out.

But it has signalled to other clubs that we'll be matching most bids

I really rate Quaynor so this is by no means a criticism of trading out 18, just a discussion point

Cal also has Issac going at 15

(MATCHING ADELAIDE'S BID)

ISAAC QUAYNOR
POS: Half-back
Ht 182cm, Wt 82kg, DOB 15/1/00
From Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro

The Pies will be waiting (a little nervously) to see where a bid comes for Quaynor, hoping it falls at pick 15 or later. They'll match if it's at this stage of the draft, given the discount they get for the rebounding small defender who is a part of their Next Generation Academy. Quaynor had a terrific year, winning All Australian honours at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. He's also a bubbly, warm personality who is well-liked in all the teams he has been a part of.

If not him? The Pies' first pick is set to be used on Quaynor, unless a bid comes earlier than expected and they don't decide to match. But that's considered unlikely.

TOMORROW'S HEROES Explosive half-back set to be a Pie

Kelly at 25

WILL KELLY
POS: Key defender
Ht 194cm, Wt 83kg, DOB 16/8/00
From Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro

The Pies are expected to match another bid and claim Kelly, the son of former defender Craig Kelly and brother of Adelaide's Jake. Kelly is a key defender who rose steadily throughout the season, and even played the last chunk of games for the Oakleigh Chargers with an ankle fracture. A defender who is comfortable with the ball in hand.

If not him? It's hard to see the Pies passing on Kelly, unless a bid comes much earlier than expected. They are prepared to go into a points deficit for next year and you would to claim Kelly and Quaynor.

UNDER THE KNIFE Collingwood father-son prospect set for surgery

Draft picks: 41, 44, 57, 59, 60 (likely to use three selections)

How the Pies approach their draft will depend largely on when bids come for their two highly rated prospects – NGA defender Isaac Quaynor and father-son backman Will Kelly. Collingwood's recruiters will be hoping they don't need to go into a points deficit for next year, but it'll be touch and go if bids come on both inside the first 25 picks, which is very possible. They also have access to another NGA prospect, Atu Bosenavulagi, who shapes as a late or rookie pick and showed good form late in the season as a pressure small forward who can hit the scoreboard. Others potentially in the mix late include tall back Kyle Reid, who was an All Australian this year, midfielder Jack Ross, and West Australian Durak Tucker, who missed this season with a knee injury.

That Crows story about bidding on our boys is just total BS clickbait. It has no basis other than the Crows are apparently known to "keep clubs honest".

and then we could Pass on the Players IF we don't rare them that Highly

And what. Wait then until the 40s to have a pick when we won't have a clue what is available? I don't think we have any choice but to match Quaynor.

And it really depends where we rate Kelly in the draft order.

I don't think its possible to have any more stories on Isaac Quaynor.

Seems like a new one every day.

The way its heading, Carlton will bid pick 1 on him. ;)o_O
We can do a pick swap with Carlton and they take Quaynor and we use pick 1.

Hello, that will be Jack.

Our contingency plans, if we decide not to match on a super high draft pick for Quaynor e.g. top 10, may be to use live trading to get back higher up back into the draft.

No idea if we can retrade the picks we already got from Geelong to move back up.

I think it will be closer to 20 though, and we will match.

Crows are Collingwood Wanna Be's;)

I would pass on Issac IF he is Bid at Pick 8 and 21 be about the Earlist I would Accept a Bid on Kelly
So are you suggesting, if pick 8 was used, we should give up in affect top 10 player and twiddle our thumbs till pick 41?

For me, Pay the toll, get the player. Move on.

The real point is, we are getting what appears a top 10 to 20 player for 40s spots.

I hope we Don't match a Top 10 Pick as I don't rate him that Highly
But that means we will be gaining a top 40 player?

I look at it simply we are using Hail Mary picks (high late picks) for higher rated talent. Sounds a bargain.

I think we're locked into taking them.

Has there been a more hyped non top 10 pick than Quaynor in draft history? Also how inventive of Twomey linking Kelly to Adelaide because of Jake! It boggles the mind that this bloke is the competitions media face of the draft...
