One thing really stood out to me, watching the draft, last night and a bit of today.

Most of the kids drafted were taller than their parents. Often by a lot. Will Kelly towers over his dad, and I’ve never thought of Craig as being short.

What’s going on? In one generation? Just seems odd.

The height of the players vs parents crossed my mind while watching too.

Speaking of tall players...........I got the feeling that , despite the brave front , Ben King was sick as a dog inside about being picked by GCS. Felt sorry for him.

Marlion Pickett not selected either after we apparently showed interest. Our interest in him seems strange if we have no rookie picks.

Murray replacement in the supplemental period if he (Pickett) gets through?

Also what time does the rookie draft start? I thought it was 5pm.

I wouldn't be against the idea of us taking him (given his "free hit" status), but we now have plenty of tall types on our books, and getting enough game time into them all may be a bit of a juggling act as it is, so if Wraith was to join that would make it even tougher. But of course if the club doesn't really rate him, then that's that!!

100% this. We already have a back half stacked with talls. We couldn't rightly believe we could develop him there. The forward line is a similar story. Our VFL team will likely have Reid, Roughead, Goldsack, Kelly, Tohill, Keane, Madgen, Lynch that will need to fit in. Maybe one of those guys is in the seniors until Dunn comes back. But selection is already going to be tight without adding to it.
