Knightmare likes bumping up the academy kids, because academies are unfair and blablabla. This way it looks like they fall further.
This. Father/son picks too. Rhylee West magically went up after playing a stinker of a championships grand final.And if you look at some of the other "more respected" people over onnyhe draft thread they have had him in the 20-30 range. He hasn't been BOG in the neafl or anything so I'm not sure how KM can justify 9th.

With Mcfadyens size and marking ability could anyone foresee him becoming a Josh Caddy type for us? Would be an awesome fit if possible up forward as a mobile 2nd/3rd tall alongside Hipwood!
Cameron Rayner will be elite in that type of role eventually. 50/50 mid forward who kicks 35-45 goals per season, he's going to kick 20+ goals in his debut season, pretty exceptional stuff.With Mcfadyens size and marking ability could anyone foresee him becoming a Josh Caddy type for us? I would think the club envisages Cam being more than a 50/50 midfielder.Cameron Rayner will be elite in that type of role eventually. 50/50 mid forward who kicks 35-45 goals per season, he's going to kick 20+ goals in his debut season, pretty exceptional stuff.
I think I can see Cam as a Zorko type that plays 70/30 mid forward and get 35 goals a season.. Caddy has played the majority of time up forward as a mobile CHF type.. Raynor can be our bull in the middle that pushes forward like a Dangerfield type.Cameron Rayner will be elite in that type of role eventually. 50/50 mid forward who kicks 35-45 goals per season, he's going to kick 20+ goals in his debut season, pretty exceptional stuff.
I hope he ends up with the endurance to play that much midfield time.I think I can see Cam as a Zorko type that plays 70/30 mid forward and get 35 goals a season.. I am seriously hoping we get Jye Caldwell with our first pick especially if it is around 6-7
I’ve got us with pick 5 after GC get pick 3 as compensation for Lynch.
If Walsh, Rankine and Smith are gone, I’d happily take Caldwell. I’ve been a big fan for sometime. He’s your bolter folks, not Stocker.
Don’t like our chances of Berry slipping to our fourth pick. Even our third. My guess would be our third pick would be a choice between matching a bid on McFadyen or hoping Berry stays on board until our third rolls around.I think Caldwell going as high as five might be a bit of a reach but if we somehow had another pick in the teens would be happy to have him. Would be happy (using Twomey's guide, sort of) with these players at our picks;
1st - Rankine, Smith
2nd - Duursma, Jones, Stocker and could see Jordan Clark being of interest to the Lions. McFadyen at 20 is way too high IMO
3rd - McFadyen
4th - Berry

Sounds like the ideal player for us
Caldwell is a tough, inside midfielder with a robust attitude and application to the game. He has the physicality to bust through and past players and should be seen as being in the best group of ball-winners available.
I can see Berry being there around our third but it highly looks like that will be used on McFadyen and was more hopium. It would be very interesting to see which way the club would go if he was bid on before our second pick as I believe there will be some highly rated players still on the board at that stage.Don’t like our chances of Berry slipping to our fourth pick. What I really like is that he can do all of this as you mention but also is extremely classy on both sides and has pretty elite skills
