If what Andy Maher said is true, there will be outrage from the other 16 clubs about this. Not to mention supporters.

Gee I hope so.
Pretty sure he's a big blues supporter, I wouldn't be taking much credence in what he says on the matter.

What's less likely; 2 priority picks in the top 5 or Andy Maher having accurate 'mail'?
Jay Clarke on triple M has said the same.....Club presidents meeting will be fireworks
I assume Clarks source is Maher and Mahers source is Clark
No.. is being reported around the traps...Maher makes up stuff but this has come from elsewhere..
Lets hope it's not one of those occasions that the AFL does sometimes ie. throwing out an idea they have to judge the reaction and possible acceptance of it.
Similar to when Gill the Dill threw it out there that they were open to the idea of experimenting with new rules in season.
Where has it been reported elsewhere that they are getting top 5 picks?
It's been reported that they are getting priority picks but end of first round priority picks are fare more likely than picks at the start of the first round.
FWIW
Yep...I fully expect the AFL to award the Suns & Blues earlier picks, just after the drafts top ten picks before the final 8 get their picks...
The Radio here when I get home I will post for you...

It just seems unfathomable that would happen, in saying that its AFL HQ we are talking about here. If it were to eventuate, i'd be so peeved as the the league left the Lions to rot during the expansion period and all we managed to eek out was a end of first Rd Priority pick and we are still not out of the bottom four!!
I like the "It is understood that ....".So multiple people have reported the same rumour today?
That's usually how rumours work it doesn't mean there are multiple sources or multiple people with the same source.
It's just the whole 'it is believed' nonsense. Most reporters just report what other reporters are reporting.
If they are mid first round they won't have too much affect on us, just pushes our 2nd pick back two spots. Top 8 teams would be peeved

Double standards much? I fail to see how the Lions list of 2016 was in better shape than the Blues or Suns of this year. Blues already have two of the best up and coming stars of the comp (Curnow & Cripps). Suns is a bit of a special case.
Agree with you briz, something is in the wind re this PP situation, the only thing that may give the AFL pause for thought would be if the Suns beat us tomorrow night. When I read Jake Niall’s article yesterday, first thing I thought was that both Carlton and Suns were going to get beginning of first round PP’s.
When the AFL’s head of competition or what ever his title is, has already done an assessment of both teams lists in an expectation of receiving PP applications, you (well me anyway) figure that both teams are going to get something better than an end of first round PP.
I like Rozee. But he’s not the inside mid we need, and my concern is our second gets pushed back far enough to miss out on the second tier mids.Agree with you briz, something is in the wind re this PP situation, the only thing that may give the AFL pause for thought would be if the Suns beat us tomorrow night.
I'd still rather flog them though and take the pick 6-7, we could still end up with the best player in the draft when we look back in 4-5 years.
Would you be happy with Connor Rozee briz?
