Did McFadyen test at the combine?

For anyone interested some of his results from his testing in February were:

Standing vertical jump - 80cm
Agility test - 7.75 seconds
20m sprint - 3.02 seconds
Yo-Yo test - 20.7

Yeah, it's not top end but suggests there's nothing wrong with his speed. His agility test and standing vertical were higher than the results of anyone test at the combine this year. Throw in the fact that he's got a December birthday he represents a lot of athletic potential. Can football too so exciting prospect for us.

Not sure I should say this but, Noble mentioned at the All For One Guernsey presentation that they were hoping the injury would lower his value a bit.

Could be even more interesting then.. Saints probably wait till draft day and get the best deal possible.. I think we need to strike before the trade period is over with Adelaide as on draft day they will push for 4 at least to land Rankine..

Pick 8 and a future first from the crows for pick 5? Crows have plenty of picks this year and back themselves in to finish top 4 in 2019.

Talking earlier in the season with pie for life, MacFadyen’s agility, leap and strong marking were his strengths, while straight line running was his (minor) weakness, with questions over his endurance.

Yes if we can get 8 and 13 for sure.. but if they are offering 8 + 16 then I take the future first over 16 and death ride them all year (like I already do every year haha)

More related to his limited or non-existent preseason I think. From memory he's another kid who came from cricket this year.

Must be a lot of draft watchers rewatching the Academy series, Allies U18 Champs games and a couple of TAC cup games. Or they're hearing stuff from recruiters.

I still like to wait for Neale next year and split 5 with the crows if there interested
Then get Neale in 2020 when we pushing for the 8 with two top 20 players from 2018 getting a year into them

I've said this before but if we go in with our first selection at 32 and a bid comes for McFadyen at 20-25 we have to match IMO as there is no certainty that the player/s we rate higher would still be available at 32 unless we rate a fair few still on the board in front of him at that stage.

Even if a bid came unrealistically high say 15 what do we do with our first selection not till 32? Just pray someone we rate higher slips through to 32?

Around 30+ be McFayden/Berry we have one pick you think we go Berry first then use one of the ones in the 40's for McFayden or a couple to match 41 and 44
Then Coleman later 52?

I wonder if we downgrade Frost or Bastinac to rookie for spots?

Not many, if any Lions fans on big footy rated Ballenden that high.

Cal Twomey on the other hand went in to the season with Ballenden as a potential number 1 pick and kept that line going well past the Championships, when he started saying bottom half of top ten.

Kept talking Ballenden up all season on potential.


Did the same with Richmond father son prospect Patrick Naish, albeit rated him just outside the top 10.
