Can’t stop watching that little video clip.
Agree. I remember when we drafted Polec, I was thinking, yeah in about two to three years he'll be able to hold is own as a footballer. Here I am looking at Smith thinking damn, he looks like he could split anyone in two. Fearsome.

He's got a hell of a fend off on him.
If he and Rayner simultaneously fend each other off at training, it might create a Higgs Boson particle.
So if gc fly them up tomorrow for a look see do they get to go to a few schoolies functions? Gotta get the Coast lifestyle happening.
I'm seeing 'Ely "the axe" Smith' after reading that BB.![]()
Drama addicts is being kind some should be disgraced and embarrassed by there comments but agree lets concentrate on the potential gun we have.Yeah hopefully that calms down the drama addicts and we can talk about the exciting footballer we just added to our list.
Agree it’s been a whileabout time we draft a bloke who can run but is huuuuuuuge.

Call him Collider, then? He's got a hell of a fend off on him.

Haha this draft I learnt which sources I can trust and which ones I can’t that’s for sure.Jeez, you "nailed" this information!
By Schoolies functions you mean 'getting shit faced & passing out on the beach'? No one from the gold coast likes schoolies, they avoid Surfers like the plague during it.
I thought he was quite pumped about coming to the club, albeit without having given it s great deal of thought. Surely you let it sink it before making such grand assertions (not you personally). This smiling thing is ludacris and some of the comments on insta and FB are terrible, no doubt the family will read them. What a shithouse way to welcome a kid to the team. Clearly just his temperament.
Didnt mind the new format, pays homage to the top players and picks, Id usually zone out after the top 10 unless it was our picks, really got into each selection this time.
Hated morris's 'leaving home' muck raking.
Carlton traded likely pick 2-4 (2019) for pick 8-10 (2019) and pick 19. I think they did quite well out of that.First up, welcome to the Brisbane Lions Ely Smith. I hope you have a long and successful career up here.
My personal draft thoughts.
I didn't mind the new format. Having grown up with the NBA draft and ESPN, and having watched it for the better part of two decades, I could see many similarities.
For those commenting on Carltons trade with Adelaide, and saying they thought our pick trade with Gold Coast was a better deal. I disagree. We traded our 2019 first round pick for a late first round, early second round and mid to late third round pick. Carlton traded their 2019 first round pick for a late first round and a mid to late first round pick. I dislike both trades, but Carlton's trade is no worse than ours.
I was really hoping Connor Rozee made it to GC's pick 6, as I hoped to see Gold Coast draft 5 SA kids. They could still have Jez McLennan and Jacob Kennerley available at their two second round picks tomorrow.
F**k I hate Port. And not just because they took Duursma. They really nailed each of their picks.
As for the Lions. It was as I feared, and made comment on at the end of the trade period, our first pick really fell right at the beginning of that zone where I felt all the second tier kids were off the board, and we were picking at the beginning of the third tier kids. There just wasn't a player I was super keen on when it came tour first pick.
I am hoping two players are still on board at our second round picks. Sydney Stack from WA and Fraser Turner from Tas.
