Lukosius heading to Carlton or Crows. If Carlton get pick one the crows have made it clear that they'll throw a lot them to get him. McGovern rumours will make Carlton consider it I reckon. Carlton trade Lukosius for McGovern almost a straight swap i reckon crows to throw a second in or something. But back on topic who is the next best player in the draft? I'll have to go with Walsh. As much as we would want Lukosius because we are crying out for a CHF we won't be getting him unless we lose to Carlton in 3 weeks. Walsh averages 28 touches in the first 2 games of the championship and watching him the other week plays a lot Tom Mitchell for mine, racks them up without being flashy and sets up his team mates very well. Adds midfield depth with the hopes of replacing Beams in 4 years in the "Elite". Who else would be at pick 2 if Lukosius taken? Max King, Key Forward?
Who else at pick 2 besides Sam Walsh? A lot depends on what happens over the course of the season. I'd say a few in contention would be Bailey Smith (balanced mid), Riley Collier-Dawkins (big bodied 193cm inside mid) some saying he has Bontempelli like attributes. I wouldn't count out Izak Rankine either, particularly if he interviews well, Rankine has serious x factor. There is scuttlebutt about re go home risk and attitude with him but the same stuff was floating around re Cam Rayner this time last year.

Reminds me of the hype surrounding previous pick 1's. Swallow Kreuzer Patton Boyd were all supermen in their draft year. Not saying Lukosius isn't what some people are saying, just take it with a pinch of salt

I've been listening to Shifter Sheehan, IMO he's of no use to listen to re draft prospects, I've never heard him criticize any draftee, if you listen to Shifter you would be thinking every player is a potential Judd, Voss or Franklin.

Yeah lock Walsh in. There might be a few more talented and he might not end up being the best mid in the draft but he looks a very safe choice and suits the midfield combination we’ll have in 4-5 years
Walsh is interesting. Probably doesn't have the highest ceiling but we do lack an accumulating midfielder in our next gen crop. Although McCluggage has come along in leaps and bounds recently in that regard.
