Carlton play us, the Saints, the Hawks and the Suns in July. By the end of those games we should have a pretty good idea of which pick we'll likely have.

I'm not confident that we will beat the Blues on Saturday week, we will be coming off a 6 day break from a long road trip with a young side and the Blues a 7 day break after a home game. Unless they are tanking I think they will be targeting it as a very winnable game.

We should beat them. If we don't it'll be a clear sign that we've gone backwards this season.

Gotta remember the H won't be there, so if we lose to the tankers I won't give a **** & I won't be thinking we've gone backwards.
They have people out as well.
No excuses, we must beat Carltank.

Would / will be very excited if we do win (I think we should & can win), but I'm just not going to get upset in the least if we don't. I can see so much improvement in the way we now play as a team & the improvements made by some of the youngsters so far shows a pretty high ceiling for them, so a lose (yeah, we've had a couple this season we should have won & I have been rather pissed) should be taken in stride at this time along our place in the scheme of things right now.
To me this hasn't been a great season so far, but I view it as an improved one, much better than our last few, even if we have less wins.

Carlton and Suns games will be wins. Finish 16th and have pick #4
How does that work? 16th is pick #3 generally. Plus, you're effectively tipping 3 teams to have 3 or less wins. That would be... unusual, to say the least.

I think there'll be no more than one team on three or less wins. I think Carlton will get to 4, St Kilda and Gold Coast to 5. And we'll have the spoon at 3.

That would still be an incredibly low win percentage for the bottom four compared to historical results.

Most are assuming that Tom Lynch leaves and the Suns get band 1 compensation ie. immediately after their first round selection.

I think it's assuming Gold Coast get a first-round FA compensation for Lynch.

I know I tipped Carlton to win 0 games last year (and won the board competition doing it too!). Nothing I've seen so far makes me want to tip them in literally any game this year either. I mean, they'll win games, to be sure, it's just kinda hard to figure out where those will actually come from.

Probably we'll all win some upsets. Even in what's left of the season.

Ah, so he's tipping us to match the Suns on wins, beat them on percentage, with the Suns to win zero games for the rest of the year, and the Saints to pick up a couple.

I know that none of us, Carlton, Saints and Suns are attractive tipping options, but the four teams won 7 games across the first half of the season, and that's probably a record low. Tipping just 2-4 wins for the rest of the season for the four teams combined is probably not going to be correct.

I wonder if we've ruled out Rankine due to go home factors and his massive ego.
