Hell of a long way to go but if we are to have one more year down the bottom this appears to be a reasonable year to do it given Lukocious, Rankine, Walsh, Hill and the King twins all look to be very good prospects. Others will no doubt emerge over the year also.

Ive liked Walsh since last year. I just think he is a good long term replacement for Beams being he is an inside/outside type mid. Also think he would compliment Hugh well and allows us to then maybe target a more inisde type to partner up with Matho/Berry.

I'm just treating every loss as being one step closer to this bloke at the end of the year.
I'm a draft follower and I might have had similar thoughts over the years but I'm frankly over it. I reckon Walsh will go 3/4 so would rather see some green shoots of improvement and still get him in the draft.

I really, really, really hope that he can be a top line player for us. Jackson Hately is one to watch I believe but not sure he would be around our second pick.

I was on the Luscious train, and then jumped on the Rankine wagon, after reading the King article I hitched a ride on his cart and now reading the Twomey to Walsh love letter I reckon I may skip on to this Walsh kid's side car.

Yep, we're likely to be in the bottom 4/5 this year. If missing out on Lukosius / Rankine / King twins mean getting this kid, all for it.

Hmmmm....still missing a few modes of transport there.

From my completely uninformed and youtube-based knowledge, I'm still keen on Rankine, though Walsh would be perfectly reasonable at current levels.

That said, most years, the kids who start the year as the top prospects don't always finish as such. From memory Nick Robertson was a top prospect in his year, and due to injury tumbled down to be a steal for us. Will Brodie was locked in as top 2 and slid to ~10. Who knows what happens once the champs start.

I remember one poster in his draft year saying Robertson was a potential number one.

Something is telling me that Rankine is going to not have the draft year that we thought. Had a quiet SA trials supposedly and a suspension and a small rumour that his interviews with Vic based managers weren't the greatest either. I'm a bit suspect on D.Fogarty's year last year as well. Going in ranked number one by most and his national champs were borderline terrible for someone of his talent. Could it be a new way to manipulate the draft? Possibly and I wouldn't put anything passed them honestly.
