22 year old Subiaco player Ben Sokol is one to keep an eye on as a mature aged prospect. Small/mid sized forward kicked 49 goals last year and in the opening four rounds of this season has kicked 12 goals.

Before Max King went down injured, I would have jumped on that trade in a second.

Lukosius & King would have gone in the top 3, with one of Walsh, Rankine or Hill still there at 5. With quite a few good inside mids just outside of the top 7 players.

Connor Rozee, Jack Bytel, Bailey Smith and Jackson Hately have all had good starts to the season, and there will be others I’m sure who will push up as the season progresses.

However, I’m not sure Adelaide would do such a trade, when they could reasonably expect to draft two top local prospects at 5 and 11.

Lukosius would surely be gone, but it would be reasonable for Adelaide to expect to have Rankine there at 5, and either Rozee or Hateley there at 11.

193cm 88kg midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins had 28 possessions on the weekend(12 contested), 4 clearances and 4 tackles. Knightmare rates him among the best midfield prospects this year and likens him to Patrick Cripps. One to keep an eye on.

Long way out from the draft but I'd do that trade. I want us to try and get two picks in the top 10 this year and add two quality midfielders. Two of Sam Walsh/Ian Hill/Connor Rozee/Bailey Smith/Jack Bytel/Jackson Hateley/Riley Collier-Dawkins ect. would really add to our future midfield stocks. If this draft shapes up to be as good as it is projecting to be I'd even consider trading our first rounder next season to get an extra pick in this years top 10.

Love ranks and rayner ( sounds like a TV brand back in the 70’s /80’s) in a couple of years running thru the midfield and giving us something special resting in the forward line. I would love rankine and hill at the lions. Skill and speed.bullets coming into the forward line that has lynch & hipwood

From what I have read, if you're drafting RCD, you're drafting him on what he will be in 3 to 5 years time, not what he is now.

Does anyone else have any concerns over Sam Walsh's short kicking game? For me, while he racks up the possessions, he doesn't appear to be as damaging a player as some of the other top mids & small forwards.

Yep, it's a deep draft of quality in the first 15 or so.

If this draft shapes up to be as good as it is projecting to be I'd even consider trading our first rounder next season to get an extra pick in this years top 10.

Usually I would be loathe do this but agree here. This is the last year of a supposed heavy draft focus so let's put all chips in. 3 picks top 15 and 4 in the top early 20's.

KM had highlighted this and it is a concern but when they don't hit their marks they're not missing by a lot and therefore can be fixed. It also looks like he is taking the game on. Matt Crouch has huge knocks on his kicking and this looks to be rectified.

This is true. For this to occur I take GC into account and the possibility of Lynch leaving mean that they would have theirs, compo and WC's. That's three first round picks and two in the second round so they might look to spread it out to another pick next year. We could also exchange our second rounders if it helped.

Thanks Briztoon. Unable to listen to the commentary as my boy is asleep and didn't want to wake him so didn't hear what they said. Appreciated, seems like a really good prospect, hopefuly we get him if we do finish last. I prefer him over Walsh (not sure about his ability to hurt the opposition with his kicks)

Hard to see any flaws in Lukosius' game. Other than he's a freaking crow-eater. Some of the clips of him are so dominant, and he's doing it in the SANFL.

Could be a real franchise player for whoever gets him. Just hope Carlton don't ruin him.
