I wonder if Rankine reminding everyone what a gun he is today is in any way indicative that he doesn't care where he ends up? Man oh man, having pick 1 and having to choose between him, Walsh and Lukosious would be almost unenviable in just how tough it would be.

I reckon gold coast won’t take risk on rankine based on their current retention issues think they will play it safe and go bailey smith and Walsh at 2 and 3 . Can’t see Carlton not taking Lukosius. That would leave us with option of rankine or a a RCD type at 4. I wouldn’t mind offering a player such as bastinac or Mayes and pay some of his wage for Gold Coast in exchange to move from pick 4 to 3 based on that allowing us getting Walsh. Gold Coast could do a lot worse then having a seasoned body up there for couple of years but not sure Bastinac or Mayes has much currency atm . Thoughts ???

It also makes you think how dirty we may be finishing 16th and not getting a look into any of them, I guess time will tell and a lot of can change between now and the draft.

Yeah finishing 3rd last and getting screwed out of the top 3/4 will be very, very hard to handle. Shouldn't be the case. Nothing should impede you from wanting to see your team win. It's the kind of garbage that makes you consider, "maybe it wouldn't be so bad to lose this one". Should not exist.

It's a bit over the top but it makes me so mad. It seems to me the media pushes this whole go-home notion in the first place. There should be no entitlement or desire for a player to play anywhere. Being drafted in itself should be a huge honour. How many of the players on the field tonight get drafted? 30% or so? From the elite juniors. It should be a privilege to end up anywhere.

Geez Rankine best on ground by a mile.Bailey Smith fought back but I dont want him with our first pick.Still think Sam Walsh fits our need if he is available.First time seeing Luckocious and obviously had an ordinary game.I really liked a couple of things Rozee did very clean under the pump.Fredericks off half back was good.King was good but was doubled teamed alot but nice kick for goal took his chances.

If Adelide end up drafting Rankine and/ or Lukosious with mid range first rounders it might be Royal Commission time. Both should be off the board by pick 4 at the latest.

Hopefully Adelaide use what could be a bounty of mid to late firsts to move to the top. Perhaps going all out to get Gold Coasts (likely) 2&3.

If Ben Dixon asked the same I would've called him a bitch. Focusing on gender is ridiculous and completely peripheral to the issue.

Not a chance. Kind of performance that's a reminder why he was talked about so highly last year. Seems to have really slid in rankings based off some ill-discipline and a go-home vibes but I'd be astonished to see him slide outside the top 3 unless Crows are really putting forth a great offer to get into the top 3. And even then they may have to choose between him and Lukosious.

God, it's such a pain in the ass that we have to worry about that GC Lynch pick. Finishing third last and missing out on one of Walsh, Lukosious and Rankine would be very irritating. I guess theoretically we could even miss out on Smith too. Then who?

I'd love it but I don't see them forcing a trade. Look a the suitors; Pies, Hawks, Tigers. Which of those teams do you see offering something beter than what could be potentially be pick 3?

Can see the Suns and Crows doing a trade for their first or likely compo pick. Crows want a crack at a SA kid. Suns would end up with say picks 3 + 8 + 9. Win-win for both clubs.
