Bulldogs 20
Saints 18
Lions 16
Suns 16
Blues 4

Getting very interesting re picks 2 to 5. Percentage likely to play a part and we have far and away the best percentage.

Big games to come- Suns v Blues, Saints v Dogs, Suns v Lions, Blues v Dogs + the possibility of a couple of upsets, starting tonight at the Gabba

Any word on how starcevich is developing ? seen he has been on extended bench a few times big body would compliment berry well in the future . Anyone give update as to his progress

Be hard to fathom the Suns putting TWO picks back one peg
It makes no difference what picks you have if the players leave after two years. The Suns need to win to create a winning culture & a place where their players want to be. I don't doubt for a second they will be trying to win every single game from here on in. Same as us, and the same as Carlton, except Carlton are shit & it won't matter anyway.

Watched the second half of the Suns game. Really enjoyed supporting them. Always a sucker for an underdog.

I'd like for us to win another game or two this year, but happy for GC to win a bunch and finish higher than us on the ladder. We aren't making finals this year, and aren't winning the spoon. If we're performing well and getting a couple of wins in what's left of the season, final ladder position is irrelevant other than for draft picks. A bit of a selfish reason for hoping the Suns do OK? Maybe, but I'm fine with it.

Also plays with the Lynch decision - if we finish higher than them, I hope he stays so that pick 3 doesn't go to pick 4. If they finish higher than us, hope he goes so that the AFL finally take note of the fact that there might actually be added difficulties surrounding running the footy club in QLD. They've ignored it when it's been us. If GC's best player leaves, they might pay a little attention.

Our finish to the year-

Cats away.
North home.
Magpies away.
Suns away.
Eagles home.

An extremely tough draw especially now that it looks like the Suns will be no easy beats, best case IMO we beat the Suns and cause one big upset (hopefully v the Magpies:D). I think we are going to end up with pick 2 or 3, come on down Smith or Walsh.

I'm not counting on Carlton drafting Lukosius.

The need an inside mid in a big way, but a first year draftee isn't going to improve their midfield immediately.

Gonna be a hell of a draft. I'd hate to be the guy who passes on Lukosious.

I thing the crows will throw the barn door at Carlton to get pick 1 , maybe two picks and a player they want lukosous very much , be interesting
Yep, throw in the probable draft night live trading of picks and it will be riveting viewing, unfortunately I wont be able to watch it, I'll be in Queenstown NZ on draft night recovering from a 3 day walk along the Routeburn Track.

Bad planning by me there.

You can probably watch it on the net if you are off the track by then.

Forgive my ignorance, but if we end up with pick 2 and Carlton select Walsh with 1, can the crows make a deal with us on the actual night of the draft to get Luko either before or after we pick him? (If we did indeed select him) Still getting my head around how the live draft will work. Cheers

You are correct in they will need to give plenty to get pick 1. Depends on how badly they want him. If they want him that bad the. It might take their current picks 8, 13 and 19 + a bigger bodied mid like Cam Ellis-Yolman for Carlton's pick 1 and 26. Leaving their first four picks as 8 (Hateley), 13 (RCD) and 19 (Duursma) and then look to trade pick 23 for some bigger bodied players like Thomas Bugg. It could eventuate for it to be like our 2016 draft.

Yes, if we were wanting to do the trade. I think the nuts and bolts of it all is that you can trade for picks but not players who have been drafted like the NBA and NFL.
