Yes, if we were wanting to do the trade. I think the nuts and bolts of it all is that you can trade for picks but not players who have been drafted like the NBA and NFL.

The NFL has 10 minutes between selections, and their trade permutations are a lot more complex than the AFL, including player exchanges, conditional picks etc

In your scenario though, it’s very likely that it would be done before the draft.

Connor Rozee apparently had a good game in the SANFL, if the big 4 are gone come draft night he'd definitely be worth considering at our first.

Thanks TBD. I'm not really up with the NFL or NBA systems, so will read up about them. Sounds like it will certainly add another layer of interest on draft night.

Doing the ladder predictor myself, I ended up with what I expected - Carlton 16th, us 17th, Gold Coast last. Carlton have really impressed me the last few weeks, and I think they're set for a strong end to the year with that fixture. They are a year ahead of us in terms of their rebuild and I expect that to start to show.

Ultimately I think the QClash in a month's time may well decide the wooden spoon.

Think back to when melb traded pick 2 to gws for pick 9 and tyson, then gws laughingly drafted kelly and melbourne took salem. Take the elite talent before trading down especially with such great elite talent on offer. Very good call BB.

Melbourne also traded away pick 20 as part of that deal.

Pick 20 was traded to us, dropped to pick 22 after compo picks were given, and we drafted Darcy Gardiner.

So Kelly+Gardiner for Tyson+Salem.

Seems to be less about the network and more about the wholesale/provider relationship. Mine's rock-solid too.

It's twofold:

1. Technology and area. The max you can get is dependent on whether it's FTTP, FTTN, HFC, fixed wireless or satellite, and how crappy or not the install was in the area (especially in the HFC case, hence the massive upgrades going on at the moment for HFC because no one has spent money on them in 20 years. Similar problems with copper between the node and the premises if it's FTTN).
2. The provider's contention ratio, or basically how much throughput they've bought for all their customers. Everyone was underbuying and then blaming the NBN because they're cheap. Now with the ACCC stepping in and the NBN offering mandated contention ratios, this has improved for a lot of people (see the new semi-guaranteed 50 Mbps plans available).
