Watch the game if you get a chance they were 16 good touches, couple of hangers, some really nice contested marks, evasive play and bursts of speed. He has some attributes coaches salivate over. Buckley was there sunday and liked what he saw.
He played a good game. However you're overrating it severely, Callan Wellings has put in 10 games that were comfortably superior to it. Nick Hind similar. Goy Lok has put in half a dozen better. With what he's shown, in a reportedly strong underage draft, and a pretty strong mature age draft, you think he gets picked before 60? He'd need to put in an amazing finals series for that to happen.

Yep i can understand where you are coming from and it might seam that way but I think he is a player on the rise and perhaps a very sharp rise. He played in a lineup sunday with 10 afl listed players and was in the best four on the ground for the pies. He was better than basically every afl teammate in his third game at that level. He and Hore marked the ball better than anybody on the ground. He was faster than anybody on the ground. Jok is a very tall utility who has genuine ball skills at his feet. Im not 100% on the rule but i think he can only play 5 times as the 23rd man, Prior to finals so that limits his exposure.

A few posters doubted me on here couple of years ago when I said Mitch Hannan will get drafted and could go top 40. Hardly anybody on here had seen him play or heard of him. He played the majority of that VFL season in which he helped Footscray win the flag in 2016. Got drafted by melbourne and has been veey good for them in his first two seasons. Jok hasnt had that exposure as yet but is just as exciting player with attributes recruiters will be looking at.

Well you’ve named half a dozen players today so throw enough darts and you’ll get a bullseye I guess

Hannan was always going to get drafted, everybody who had seen half a dozen Footscray games knew that. Your arguments about the 23rd player rule is irrelevant, if they're good enough they'll get games, Wellings is the classic example of that, he's 19 and is basically the 2nd or 3rd VFL player picked every week.

Reign in your expectations. The last VFL player to get drafted with so few games was Rupert Wills for Collingwood. And he's crap.

Are you....shouting him down?!?!

I'm not sure an Essendon-supporting visitor to the board will understand that a sizable minority of our board considers a single post disagreeing with them to be "shouting them down".

Admittedly it was a joke for the locals.

I didn’t realise that constituted shouting down.
In most cases where I've bothered to check up on posters' claims to be shouted down on whatever topic they're pontificating on at the time, I've found it tends to be one or two posts disagreeing and explaining why.

I suspect people like to blow things out of proportion so that way they can claim a disproportionate victory given the self-congratulating nature of most of the "shouted down" posts.

RUBBISH!!! (Am I doing it right?)

Perfect. Next time I point out the "shouted down" fallacy I'll claim I was shouted down for pointing it out. ;)

Interesting strategy. A preemptive shouting down about being shouted down in order to prevent someone shouting you down for pointing out your thoughts on people claiming they've been shouted down.

I hope I don't get shouted down for taking this shouting down meme too far. If I do, I am going to blame 'left wingers'.

3 QLD kids named in the national U15 team. Suns academy member Finn Brown. Lions academy member Lachlan Harrop. And Marcus Ashcroft's son Will Ashcroft, who is in the Suns academy and would technically be an under ager at U15 level, being 14.

Marcus Ashcroft's son would also be eligible for Father / Sun for the Lions.

300+ games and three premierships surely override a few years in tin sheds managing a list of flawed Scott Clayton draftees.

I saw young Ashcroft at the QLD state little athletics championships a few years ago. Very quick. Won the 100m final.
Bit different to his old man. IIRC he was never that fast but just had a good footy brain, skills & could run all day. Hips did him at the end I think
