Not sure where I said I don't rate him. And I'm the first to admit I'm no expert, just a fan with an opinion.

If he's thereabouts when our second round pick rolls around, he's on a short list of players I'd be keen on there. He's probably got more chance of still being there than the most of the other players I like for our second.

My only possible concern with Thomas is that injuries have already taken a fair toll on his young body. But that also works in our favour, as Berry hasn't been able to put together a consistent year and climb up draft boards, and may have slipped on some draft boards.

Oh, and what BangyBangy said.

p.s. Sam Walsh and Thomas Berry would probably be many Lions fans dream draft. But we'd probably have to trade our 2018 & 2019 first round picks, to genuinely have a chance of prying pick one from Carlton to guarantee Walsh, and hope our second round pick doesn't get pushed much father back that pick 25* after GC's compo picks and two end of first round PP's are factored in.

*I'm not so much concerned about it being pushed back by clubs matching academy and FS bids, just other possible compo picks.

Was I wrong about his brother Jarrod in his draft year? Tom has a couple of traits superior to those of Jarrod.... speed and acceleration, equally hard at the man and contest and better forward craft.

I think there is a good chance we will end up with pick 3 (4 Lynch compo), you would think we are little chance of beating the Eagles with so much at stake for them and I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints beat the Kangaroos meaning they would leapfrog us.
Saints won't win. They will make sure of that... much like the North game we had round 23 last season where we tanked.

Reckon out of all the teams that can't make finals, the Saints need a win the most. A win means more than the difference between pick 4 & 5 in the draft, and by a fair margin IMO.

And if the Saints are really interested in one or both of the King twins, pick 4 or 5 makes no difference to them, as they would have a fair idea if Brisbane were interested in either of the Twins.

As a Brisbane fan, who do you prefer to draft if Sam Walsh, Jack Lukosius and Bailey Smith are already off the board? One of the King twins, Rankine or a trade involving our first round pick.

I like Eagles down back. IMO you could almost classify him as a our "State League" top up player. I watched a fair bit of last years NEAFL grand final and his NEAFL games this year, he is a big intimidating back, who can take a good intercept mark and distribute the ball well, i think he adds a lot to our list while Skinner and Payne are developing.

From what i've seen of Skinner I like a lot, love the way he monsters guys in the tackle.

Don’t forget Fagan is keen to look at Andrews forward. A strong replacement for him down back frees him up to move forward.

It is, and I retain the right to have mine. I can just imagine that all of this is quite taxing for those actually working in the industry to have to deal with from time to time.
If the people in the industry are getting their knickers in a knot because of online forums then that's a concern.

Personally, I've learnt to take things with a grain of salt with what is said on here in regards to players and try to ascertain my own opinion through getting a chance to watch the national champs, clips (yes I know they don't show the bad but they've gotten better with being realistic) and also what is written about them from a number of sources. I also try to listen Noble, Ambrogio and Conole to get a feel for who we might be looking at.

All in all, I welcome our draftees with welcome arms when they're selected, move on from those that I would've liked and hope like hell we start winning.

Not a King because of our existing young key position players and potential academy kids next year. But then I'm honestly not sure what to do. I'm not convinced Rankine could become a full time mid, therefore I'm reluctant to pick him as we already have a number of smalls who may/wont play enough midfield time. If a Rozee/Hately/Stocker/Jones push up to that 6-8 range I'd be happy to reach "a little" for the need, but if the recruiters think it is too big a drop off talent wise and some of these guys would be available with Adelaide's first 2 picks, I'd be hoping they REALLY want Rankine and doing a deal.

Why does it seem that Adelaide are exclusive in all of the potential swap of picks? Port will not lose Polec for nothing & they are already quite well positioned in the draft as it is.

Rankine, if the club are confident he won't leave after two years. I don't care if he becomes a full-time mid or not, he's a serious talent who could be a real game breaker. I'd rather find a way to fit him in the team than overlook him based on need.

Yep, Noble has consistently said he would draft the best talent available. As long as he is sure that Rankine wouldn't leave.

Like your thinking Briztoon but Thomas Berry a must have, he is everything that our club represents the young fella is a beauty and you guys haven’t seen it ever has other clubs he is the gem in the draft that is hidden

I'm not convinced about the love for Tom Berry. He had a pretty underwhelming champs (and I realise people argue he was played out of position, but I don't accept that argument, it's not harder to play half-back than midfield) and he has been injured since. Doesn't really have the form on the board to be taken anywhere before our third round pick. It has always struck me as a romantic choice and I don't think we're in the business of being romantic. Better talent likely to be available from SA and Tassy in the 2nd round. Would only be interested in Tom if he slides, he strikes me as a risk to take early.

I strongly believe he will be there for us at third rd pick 3 he has been injured with various problems after running through a behind post literally early in season endeavour not a problem for him this is the traits that we love in the young lad, absolute jet and hard as nails and can tackle from nowhere closing speed is superb, he being injured is a blessing in disguise.

Saw Tom today at the footy, casts off the wrist, now just bandaged up and he actually went in at 3/4 time and came out in the runner's pink and was one of the runners for the last quarter. There is absolutely no doubt he would not have been available in the 3rd round bar for injuries this season IMO, still have my doubts he'll get that far if as expected like his brother Jarrod he lights up the draft combine with his speed, agility and acceleration on show which will put him right back on the recruiters radar.
