Yes I have .... which is why I said "but I think an off-season of Neale, McFadyen, someone, Coleman just lacks that young player to make an impact given McFadyen and the others will all be projects." We end up with Neale/pick 5, McFadyen potentially taking our 2nd and 3rd (at least pushing it back) and some late picks which we all know are pot shots at that point. Given the way recruiters give themselves wet dreams over the Patrick Cripps build mids, I can see him going in the early 20's range.
If McFadyen is bid on before our second round pick, that pick alone should be plenty to match the bid, very much doubt he'll take our second and third round picks.

The draft allows for live trading this year, so if there is a player rated highly by our recruiting staff, they can always attempt to trade back in on the night, to pick up a kid they rate.

If someone bids can we trade right then for a suitable pick to cover it or do we have to already have the bid in hand to match it when his name is called?
briz would know for sure but IIRC once a bid is made no trade can be done you only have 2 choices, match or pass.

The terms aren't yet released, at least to the public.

The injection of 1 young player vs the proven class of Lachie Neale is hardly going to lessen the impact after picking up 12 players in the last 2 drafts. At some point adding a class player who’d likely be top 3 in our B&F is a very good thing

McFayden up to 9 in new power rankings on ESPN web site.

Good raps. Could he go top ten?

The author of that (Chris Doerre) is Knightmare and he systematically overrates our Academy players.

If he went top 10, then l reckon we wouuld let him go
It's good to see him rated. Happily, as WhiteLionFeva points out, it is Knightmare so we can be pretty certain he won't actually go anywhere near there.

Knightmare massively over rates academy players. Ignore

did the sun's and saints both beat us this year? Not sure we can be seen as too far ahead really.

Saints beat us but we beat Gold Coast both times we met them.

Just to play devils advocate here , what is people's opinion , as this is the best draft in years should we not to taking kids at first and second round instead of trading those picks for players ? Even tho lockie is a top player
Have we moved from stock piling talent a year early

Thoughts
