mmmm I’d prefer to keep pick 5.

As has been mentioned there is a lot of talk, supposedly from actual industry sources, that Gold Coast is looking at Lukosius and Rozee at picks two and three.

So I don’t believe Rozee will be available at Adelaide’s first pick.

Also there has been a lot of talk that the Dogs are very keen on Rozee.

I can genuinely see Smith being there at pick 5.

If Rozee does go to the Gold Coast, I don’t believe Smith lasts to Adelaide’s pick.

I don’t believe McFadyen will be bid on inside the top 30. I’m thinking somewhere around pick 40.

Jordan Clark would be a great pickup with our second pick. However he’s unlikely to still be on board with our second pick possibly being pushed back a fair bit.

But there still should be some good kids on board in that range. Very, very few draft watchers have Berry jnr in the top 40 kids, so worst case scenario for me is picking up Berry jnr with our second pick.


I don’t see HBF as a “desperate” need for us. Christensen has shown he can play there, and we still have Cox, Allison and Hinge, one of whom could step up this off season.

And there’s always next year where we could trade or draft for run out of defence.

Gold Coast are looking at more than just Lukosius and Rozee. Don’t be surprised to see them going down a very different path to that.

Dogs keen on both Rankine and Rozee. I expect them to take one of them if they last there.

Pick 5 and 22 for 7 and 15 is really a no brainer from my point of view. I’d have thought it may even need a slight sweetener from us.


Pick 22 probably gets pushed back until pick 27 after free agency/priority picks.

I see it as a way of continuing to build the midfield depth but also addressing our run off half back with someone like Clark whilst also adding one of Caldwell, Hatley or even RCD who has enjoyed a nice two weeks in the TAC Cuo finals series.

We may be still a chance of a PP, an early 2nd rounder would help with the Lachie Neale trade. Would there be any chance the AFL would give the Suns and Blues a PP and not us? I'm happy we put in for one as even if we don't get one it could move the other teams potential PPs down the draft.

The Brisbane Lions will also have a submission considered despite the positive direction the club appears to be heading under coach Chris Fagan.

The Lions have not finished higher than 12th since 2009 and have won just 55 of their past 198 games.

Although they appear on an upward trajectory they remain in a rebuild phase.

I think that's the point of us applying though. Not to get one but to show that Carlton and the Suns aren't worse off then we've been to lessen whatever handout they get.

Wouldn’t pick 15 get pushed back at least 4 spots to 19 under your suggestion?
