The clubs met with the kid probably more than once and wouldn’t feel the need to care about a facial expression in a photo.

That's the thing about social media. Everyone has an opinion and a voice now. I read through facebook comments & it reminds me of the old George Carlin quote, just think about how stupid the average person is, then realise half of them are dumber than that.

The problem with facebook is it moves too fast for the shout down clique to intervene.

In the footage of Eli, he seems to be extremely well balanced, did not go to ground once.

Add to that his strength, best vertical leap at draft combine, he looks to have some elite attributes.

Looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the club.

He isn't just a big unit, he has genuine power behind him. Combine that with the fact that he isn't slow and actually has a bit of zip... colour me excited. The one thing that actually stood out to me in his video on the draft site was his hands. His handballs were quick, clean, flat and right on target. Also able to pick a good option to handball too, not just zipping it to the first guy he sees. Seemed alright below his knees too. Wasn't super clean, but when ball was on the deck he was pretty good at not over running it.

They compared him to a Jobe Watson type but with physical attributes Jobe never had . Also have a feeling we are gonna love this kid and have no doubt with culture that fagan and noble has created that he will be a long term lions player . Also has a box country kid he would of left home anyway to play in Melbourne so as far as I’m concerned makes absolutely no difference. Lions would have done due diligence on him no doubt .

Not a shot at you, just a general shot at some halfwits who read into a smile/no smile/mouthgard.

I back most clubs to know how big a flight risk a kid is before they draft them. Sometimes they have no choice but to take a bigger risk I.e. Gold Coast this year but as we’ve seen over the last 2-3 years if the culture is strong and players buy into the future success then they will stay
