Geez that's a fair old risk taken from Carlton, trading next years 1st for 19 and Adelaide's future 1st.

Going to look really ugly when it turns out as Pick 3 for 19 and 14.

is there a standout top 3 or 4 players next year? might have thought Stocker is/would be better than anybody theyd get in next year. they get a pick around the 8 to 12 range surely theyve looked into alot more than us and a few years out as well

Yeah, I'm really annoyed by Sturt, I liked him in the TAC GF, and was happy to hear we were into him ... plus it's made worse that it was Freo ...

I reckon we’ll get him at some point!

Not sure, I don't think next year is spoken of as glowingly as this years has been, although even this years super draft of 30 future superstars, turned into 7 really good players.

I think they've just rolled the dice on them making a jump up the ladder next year, and Adelaide holding where they were this year ... My money would be on the opposite happening!

We put a lot of ground work in there.

yeah no doubt blues wont jump up too many spots and reckon crows will be better after sorting out the bullshit of last year. but still reckon its not bad for blues if they rated stocker a top ten and dont rate next years top 3 get to get a year into him aswell. guess time will tell

its a loophole that shouldnt exist its why i was asking about it before the draft i thought surely you wouldnt be able to trade back in it was obviously the smart thing to do. well played by them but WTF did the AFL seriously not think what could happen. try doing trade in trade week with 500 point differential and see if AFL lets it through

I wonder if the AFL will close it before next year like they did with Academy clubs loading up on late picks by trading out their early ones.

I say leave it tho, you've gotta convince another club to let you exploit it, and the Swans took a pretty big pick downgrade on their 2019 2nd rounder to get it done.

The AFL still has to tick the trades off tho ... But I can still see them trying to close the loophole for next year, making the point deductions fluid perhaps? So the picks you use to match a bid aren't officially deducted until that pick comes and goes.

Something like that would be handy for Collingwood actually, apparently the bid for Quaynor came a few picks earlier than they needed it to, and now any bid for Kelly inside of 34 and they'll go into deficit next year.

No way does Lewwy keep his spot, He might have a diminished role, due to our backline being so packed with talent.

IMO Fritch is an elite spot kick (from D50). I feel like i don't know who else i would push out for Spargo.

Thats not a bad idea, following suit with WCE. iF The game is constantly evolving and thats whats winning games of football then so be it. Play 2 Talls, that play the same POS

Playing two rucks on the park at the same time would be silly. Gawn can clunk one in the 50 and kick the odd goal, but he's not a better forward option than TMac or Weid (or Hannan, Spargo, Milkshakes, OMac, etc). He should play in the ruck, where he was a little bit handy last season.

If Preuss didn't come to play in the reserves, he should've gone to a club that didn't have a mid-twenties All-Australian ruckman playing for them.

Gawn's Strength being the number 1 ruck in the comp. Thats exacytly why we habve him in the side. Or sneak forward/Back and take big pack marks
Our goal kicking potency/ conversion rate is something other teams are envious of due to how many avenues to goal we have

They might lose the trade in absolute terms, but in theory they get better sooner with an additional talent next year, so maybe players can see the light/hope and want to stay and build. As opposed to stacking consecutive #1 picks and the losing culture rolling on.

Like on one hand, we missed Kelly but we got Dom and Salem at a time when we seriously needed to replace VFL spuds to move forward. The way our rebuild has planned out holistically, I’m not really dirty we missed Kelly.
