If Hill is available at our first pick I recon we will take him for sure.

Do you think he will make it past you guys?

I guess you don't really need him with Rioli and Ryan developing nicely.

I reckon Hill will go between 20-35 from what I’ve seen of the phantom drafts.

Could definitely be available at our pick.

Sorry for the blunt, non-PC commentary, but; indigenous players from WA have a pretty high go home factor about them and I’d be cautious with Hill.

That's true. I am of the opposite opinion (haven't seen many phantom drafts admittedly) but I have kept a close eye on him. I can see either Adelaide club taking him in the teens (if they miss out on Rankine). Also, GWS would be in the market for that type of player and could take him before us with pick 19.

If we miss him I'd be happy with McHenry though.

I can tell you that there is one AFL team that has put a line through him, as they reckon he is a flight risk (that’s the term I was told they use for go home factor now).

Agree. If Hill is there at our pick we’ll surely take him. I have a feeling he won’t be though.

Who cares?
If he plays 6 years with us and wins a flag I won't give a stuff. Nev Jetta and Garlett are both from prominent WA families and have stayed.

He’ll definitely be in consideration at our picks but I’d put a few ahead of him in terms of preferred ranking order.

I’d be more interested in Sydney Stack with our second pick.

If we win a flag and get 6 years I won’t give a stuff either. Don’t have a crystal ball like you though unfortunately.

Depends on the family and personal circumstances, and all I’m saying is that I’d love Hill at Melbourne but would be cautious.

Odd that you'd use Garlett as an example. He's stayed... and been ordinary after a decent season and a half.

I'm sure we can find someone decent in the draft who Fremantle won't have on speed dial.

Because it's got nothing to do with how good he is, he's stayed in Melbourne his whole career.

Can't just give up drafting West Aussies just because we lost one of them.

Richmond wouldn't have Rance
Sydney/Hawthorn wouldnt have Franklin
Carlton wouldn't have Cripps
All fair points. I still want Hill, but i am still wary that he has strong family ties to the state. One Hill has already gone back

The club will assess the risk, if he sits there in his interview in a freo jersey then sure pass on him. But if he's 50-50 and he is the player we want then we gotta go for him

Small pressure forward. Very quick. Expecting a bid on him from second round onwards.

I don't think we'll see a bid for him in the second round.

Not quite on the same level as Hill for mine.

I'd be happy to take both though.

From what I’ve read he could be later second round. 35 onwards. Hopefully for our sake it’ll be later. I doubt it’ll impact our first 2 picks.

Just seen a lot of comments about the Irishmen and them being good kicks.

Hawks have 2 Irishmen and neither are great kicks with Nash being deplorable at kicking.

Some are good kicks but I think the chances that they are good kicks is the same as any other player. Its just that the media always highlights the Irishmen.

Townsend has been delisted now. Given we have 6 lists spots I’d be having a good look. Won’t be best 22 but will be god back up should melksham or someone like that goes down.

If we don’t pick up a DFA there’s probably a good chance we go in to 2019 1 or 2 players short.

Jarrod Lyons delisted as well. Not sure wtf Gold Coast are doing?
