If we beat the Lions, decent chance we finish with pick 4 so any potential Lynch compo would be pick 5.

Would change a lot of things.....

And we would be a chance to beat the Lions at home. Always have a chance in that game, as they do against us.
Against Lions, we could have back May, Thompson, Swallow, Lyons, Ainsworth, Crossley. We should have a chance.

I would like to know what people think about Bailey Scott. If he nominates North or Cats instead of us should Suns still bid on him let's say with early 2nd round pick or even using our 1st round Eagles pick? We got plenty of picks, possibly get a priority pick too. I watched him against Lions and he looks like a real deal. We could use an outside midfielder who grew up in our system. I believe Calum Toomey had him late 2nd or even 3rd round to be drafted? Would North or Cats match as they have less picks and other father/son/academy prospects to deal with.

Walsh is rated ahead of Smith by the vast majority of draft watchers. Walsh is in contention for Carlton at #1.
A lot have him ahead but there’s a fair few that rate smith slightly above. Obviously given the option I’d hope we chose Walsh but I’d rather smith over Rankine

Looking likely Lyons will be seeking a way out in this year trade . Carlton and North are the type of club looking for his signature .

how is that looking likely?
He want out with better offer , not playing up to what Dew want, looking at pattern how he get dropped by Dew .Most likely GC Want to extend his contract and he is delaying it .

Important game for us to repay the faith in Metricon fans sitting through such a miserable schedule. I’m hoping the Lions win against Collingwood so that fans aren’t talking about tanking all week for the QClash. Also hoping Brisbane can upset the Eagles at the Gabba in round 23 so that WC tumbles down the ladder after 3 straight losses (Power, Dees, Lions) and exits finals first up.

I don't want to be the arseh*le who hopes we lose but whatever needs to happen to end up with picks 2 and 3 is what I would like to happen.

With 2 take whoever is left of Lukosius or Walsh and then with 3 just take whoever they feel is the safest/best bet between Smith and Rankine (no King twins - we have enough talls).

I wonder whether he was looking to leave before he started getting dropped or whether he is looking to leave now because he started getting dropped.

What would he be worth in a trade now - future 2nd rd pick?

It is the most logical choice. We must fix this mess of a midfield before all else. What’s the point of having a star KPF if the ball can’t reach him. Part of the reason Lynch has left IMO - he was getting cold down there from a lack of action. Now watch our recruiting team go ahead and draft both King twins

If Lyons' problem is he's not quick enough to play at the MCG, why would he go to Carlton or North? Surely they'll play more games at the MCG than the Suns will.

Do you have any support for the idea that he wants to leave or are you just making it up?

Agree with Fat Pizza. Name sources or leave guess work to where it belongs. I think we have done Lyons bad a couple of times and he should be a keeper unless an even better trade could be found.... NO more outside mids though!

That is what Dew said about his speed , not other team coach regarding his speed in MCG , if you look at Carlton they only have Cripps there ,adding Lyons will greatly improve their midfield with Murphy not getting any younger . Players career is short they will think about themselves , Lyons and Barlow look to be Eade favourite but not with Dew . Lyons will be 27 next year keep getting dropped behind Lonergan , Dawson is not really ideal especially without Swallow in the team .

I don't want to put a value , other team that are weak in midfield will definitely talk to his agent regarding his availability and where he at in Dew plan ,especially he started getting dropped and his replacement is not playing any better than him in the absent of Swallow .

I don’t know why Dew hasn’t considered playing Lyons a bit more up forward if he doesn’t provide enough run through the midfield. He was quite good as a small-medium forward at Adelaide. He’s got to be a better goal threat than Lemmens?
That is the reason I started to question did he really in Dew Future plan .

Lyons is probably worth now what you paid to get him? It's tough for any player to get a third chance, of course.

Look I like GC to keep him , but will not be surprised if some other team offer him better term and he want to go .

Essendon are looking for midfielders their coach said on radio
Don't like it but they got Saad last year , Lyons will add a lot to their midfield.

You're literally just making this up. Lyons has not given any indication whatsoever that he wants to leave.
Weller did not gave any indication to Fremantle too, nor did Saad until season end . I did not make shit up , I just said there is possibility there . Trade thread should look at possibility not fact .

Saad had given plenty, but by this logic we better watch out for every single player on our list because none besides Lynch and Hall have given indication they want to leave

Yes , that is true as GC looking at other players from other team don't get off guard other team don't do the same, just because nobody talk about it through media does not mean it is not happening in Background . If you are Essendon list manager and want a midfielder what harm to ask Lyons agent his availability.
