Unfortunately looks like the May issues are real and probably will go, not gelling with Mr Dew apparently
seriously? what's with our players and having issues with coaches? or is it the other way around and the coaches are the issue? wasn't may in the media a while back saying he's embraced dewsnf the culture he wants to introduce?

why can't they just ****ing stick to the long-term focus and put personal issues aside. i've never seen a professional australian sporting team with so many in house personality clashes, it's becoming a joke...

It's starting to look like getting Dew was a huge mistake.

It sounds like if you have a different opinion then his he wants nothing to do with you.

This will not end well

Clarkson & Chris Scott apparently never mince words and tell players as it is, regardless of who they are. Those players embrace it.
The whole culture of this footy club was poor from the start and festered for years.
Hit the reboot button and move on any player who thinks they're bigger than the club. May's indiscipline this year would drive any coach crazy.

or perhaps the players with a deep seeded fear of change are the ones that are creating the dramas? can you expect a new coach to come into a club and want to keep going with the same morals and values as the previous crew?

yep
he's a really good player but everyone's tradeable

I wish Steven would stay and play at his best and cut out the stupid free kicks, frequent suspensions.

But can he?

If we trade him.. we need to get some additional help down back.

Can’t go into a season with only Thompson and Leslie and ?koenen as key talls.

Fingers crossed we get Sam Collins!

Any chance we sat to Carlton we’ll give you May for a second rounder and the acknowledgement that they won’t take Collins?

No chance Collins is not worth a downgrade from 1st Rd pick to second Rd.

Where does a first round pick come into it?

I don’t know if what I suggested is realistic.

The point I was trying to make is we cannot give May away without a guarantee of getting another kpd into the club somehow. We cannot go into the year with Thompson and Leslie only. Perhaps Collins could be worked into it somehow.

May is comfortably worth a first. If Jake Carlisle was traded for pick 5, we'll be demanding similar value

Problem is who out of the bottom 5-7 clubs this year would be chasing him and willing to give up there first pick this year?

The clubs May has been linked to in the media are all top of the table clubs like Collingwood and Hawthorn who would have 0 chance of finding a top 5ish pick for us this year. It would be in our interest for him to hang around next year and leave under free agency as we will probably end up with another top 3 pick like this year with lynch

I knew you rated Collins , but is he the only mature KPD in state league (VFL, NEAFL, SANFL, WAFL ) . GC Recruiters should have a few more target in mind than just Collins .
Anyway I said sorry first if I interpreted wrongly that your are suggesting a second Rd pick for May in order to get Collins .

If May goes he's not going to a bottom 5-7 club.

He will be going to a big Melbourne club that are in their premiership window.

If Collingwood fall short this year they will do some shuffling to get an early 1st round pick to get May and maybe throw in a player

North? Thompson and Tarrant are getting pretty long in the tooth - Thompson certainly wont be there by the apex of North's current upward trajectory, Tarrant may not be.

Bullies could probably use a quality KPD as well - May would be a big upgrade on what they have.

I haven't seen Collins play so I don't really have a personal opinion beyond what others have suggested - that he is definitely AFL worthy.
I just don't want to give up May with no incoming KPD and end up with not enough key defenders next year.
Whether that means Collins or alternative I don't have strong opinion.

Do you know of other state-league KPD who are possible candidates to be taken this offseason?

North would be a suitor potentially but they will be giving there first round pick for Polec by all reports so they can get Thomas without having to use an early pick on him in the draft.

Yeah point taken re: top of the table club.
Just considering how we are going to replace him if he goes this off-season.

Would be strange for the Club to come out last week as strong as they were that May would not be traded under any circumstances etc and then consider a trade a few weeks later. How good is your intel on this Thurls?

One of two reasons for it:
One: they were sick of speculation and they have no intention to trade May
or Two: pump up his value

need to draft some genuine defenders this year. Sam Collins as a mature age and maybe Isaac Quaynor as a small defender with WCE first pick would be a start

It's pretty much the Suns saying make us an offer we can't refuse

Few that i think club will consider if Collins not avaiable at Thier pick .
1) Angus Litherland (Subiaco-WAFL ) - Former Hawthorn Player height 1.92 m
2) Chris Burgess ( West- Adelaide-SANFL ) Height 1.93 m
3) Marty Hore ( Collingwood -VFL) Height 1.89 m { Doedee height ).

------------------------
Possible DFA
1) Hugh Goddard ( St Kilda )
2) Kieran Collins ( Bulldog)
------------++----+++

Litherland seemed ok for the Hawks but was quite thin from memory.
Good to know there are a few options around.
Not many really tall guys - suppose if you are good and 195+ then you're in the AFL.
