He certainly puts in 100% effort but it’s jusy wild maniac unbridled effort.

The classic scenario was in the last few rounds of the year where he sprinted up 100% effort to smash someone who had the ball and their back turned, the opposition slightly shifted weight sideways and because Sean was going 100% straight line he just clipped the guy on the way past and failed to make the tackle.

Effort still needs to be directed and focussed in the right direction and in the right way.

Interesting dew put him back to defense last week. I thought he was alright. His field kicking seems better just hitting up a target in front of him rather than needing to kick goals. Honestly I don’t think the forward experiment worked. Would be ok with seeing him play back next year.

Next year will not be a problem , but end of next year , Jack Martin , Ah Chee , swallow , 2mp , Thompson , Miller , May ( if he is still around ) , Lyons , Young , Sexton will all demand a bit more for their next contract .
50k to 200k increase will all add up very quickly.

Surely you sign a player up not just for a season 2019 but 4years to 5 years like Weller .

I still think Weller Trade in isolation( Without Ballard) ar the worse trade in modern era.

How? He finshed top 3 in the best and fairest. Will never leave the suns and constantly improved over the year with lots of improvement left, plus we got Ballard who will be a star. We broke even at the very least

Do you really rated this year Best and Fairest , Barlow only play 3 AFL games , Lynch injured half a season , Hall play a few games , Lyons coming in and out of best 22 , Florini play around 10 games . The top 3 play the full AFL season .

Absolutely true, that’s part of the fun of BF but even you must laugh when people say on your board we must get Lyco as he is a generational player, perhaps better than McLeod and in the same breath offer up an average player and picks we don’t need as reasonable trading

I am fine with the outcome of the Weller trade.

Weller came on the 2nd half of the year, showed some good signs. I can easily see him as a top 10 player on a finals team. The fact he wants to lead the Suns out of the wilderness is a big bonus to his on-field play.
Ballard showed heaps of potential this year. Very happy with that pick.

But I remain ropeable about the process of the Weller trade. In my opinion that was a panic trade from a club that had made promises they felt they had to keep. Freo played it beautifully.

We got away with the Weller trade.

If we make a similar type of trade again, chances are good that it will end up a poor outcome. You don't typically find promising players like Ballard at 41.

Haven’t seen a lot of Brayshaw but he looks like a younger, slower version of Lachie to me. Throw Ballard on top and I’m quite content with that trade. Time will tell.
