I saw his debut game he's got an upside definitely. I think he will be a player.

Seems like a good guy on the lions website videos. Good energetic around the club.

The main issue is his disposal... see 14.17.

Don't mind the idea of picking up Keays. He's still 21 so that's obviously a good thing because he is probably nowhere near his ceiling and potentially has 10+ years of footy ahead of him. He would have played some rep footy with guys like Lachie Weller, Jesse Joyce and Jack Bowes through the Queensland state team so there's a bit of a connection there with some of our guys already.

Ben went to a GPS school in Brisbane (Terrace) and you can tell he's an articulate guy when you hear him speak. As you pointed out, he's a hard working guy and I think it's good to have a mix of backgrounds on our list with both private schoolboys and those who come from the public system (PBC represent!). Weller, Bowes and Bailey Scott also come from private schools on the Gold Coast so we're getting our fair share of private schoolboys from QLD to compliment the local state school programs. Maybe people don't see the value in this but I guarantee you these things factor into building character, culture, accountability and a hard working environment.

Ben also seems like a really likable guy so I doubt he'll have any issues fitting in if we choose to recruit him. Some may say we should avoid him because he's just a fringe player for Brisbane but sometimes a change of environment can make a huge difference for an individual. Look at what happened when Jarryd Lyons made the jump from the Crows to us.
 
Can we please not post links to things like trade shouter or trade whisperer or random AFL fan pages? I may as well just go to that section of BF if I want to read BS from those places.

Slow news week. Geelong have nothing to trade for him anyway unless they keep delving into future Draft picks. Maybe they want to trade Buzza and a pick?

Pardon the intrusion, but Ben isn't going to the Suns of all clubs (rivals). Let's be serious. One of his family members already debunked the rumour.
