So what would we want from the pies for May?

Is it a 3 way trade with us getting McGoven?

I don’t think thepies 1st round pick would be enough to get it done
If May dose go to Collingwood I can see a huge s*** fight braking out The Coch vs Eddie

May's former manager Ned Guy is Collingwood new list boss

So Lynch, May, Barlow, Rosa, Hall, KK, Scrim, Martin all gone or rumoured to go

WTF is going on, that’s an list implosion. Even if half this happens we may as well close the doors
To be fair Barlow, Rosa and Hall we wanted to get rid of
Lynch is leaving through free agency
Scrim, Martin and May I doubt get traded, being under contract and all

Sorry to intrude but can't see why losing May for picks of any nature is a good thing. I would be saying find players that want to play for the GCS even if you have to pay overs.

The revolving door at the moment cannot be good for morale and makes it easier for others to justify leaving.

Nah , how many players you can overpaid , do players really want to play for you or because you overpaid them so they pretend they want to play for you .

I was talking overs in terms of the trades, I know people don't like the Lachie Weller trade. But if you know he will be at the club long term you can't put a value on that stability. Just my thoughts :)

Just my thoughts too ;).

Losing Lynch is bad but given our shocking midfield and the fact the ball is more often going in the other direction, losing May could be worse. Losing both....:poo:

Remember when Eddie continually complained about concessions given to the northern clubs.
Now Northern clubs can’t hold onto players because big Victorian clubs like Collingwood cherry pick all of the best talent. I guess Eddie got his way in the end. I will be very pi$$ off if Eddie starts sooking again about new changes to help northern clubs.

Have to add, to quote a phrase "Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying" - Jack Lang

Just doesn't make any sense to trade May if it's not for a top 5 pick or equivalent deal, as we could get that just by holding on to him until next year.

The only benefit of trading him now is the cash saved, an extra list spot and not having a disgruntled senior player on the list.

You just trolling now the WCE pick would be overs on its own
Seriously? There's no way we're accepting an end of first round pick on its own.

Oh, don't you worry about that, as Sir Joh used to say. The Weller Trade in Suns circles is like the Judd Trade in yours, except that for you guys the only thing that could give the Blues anything close to parity on what at the time seemed a steal would be for Judd's sons to choose the Blues and claw back some of the advantage West Coast got out of that ultimately lopsided deal. Weller just won 3rd place in the Suns B&F while the other draft pick that came in the trade produced a cracking 195cm flanker who played 10 games in his 1st season and has us all excited to see what he can produce with another preseason. Meanwhile, the Luke Davies-Unicorns have gone deathly quiet.

There is pain in getting rid of people who don't want to be at our club, but it is pretty much a reset at this point. While it sucks so much that May could be leaving, if he doesn't want to be here then so be it. We need a list of players that actually want to be at the club, that are passionate about making it work. Any trades we do this year, we must extract full value from. Especially with contracted players.

Surely it's still speculation at this stage.

Do we compare Weller and Ballard against LDU who seems likely we would've taken at 2 but isn't confirmed or against the Brayshaw actually taken at 2?

It is speculation based on rumours. However, there is usually a kernel of truth in these Chinese Whispers, even if most of them get blown completely out of proportion. For May, the rumour spread from sources within the club is that he's pissed off at being shopped around to other clubs. This could be looked at from a number of angles. For one, has he really been "shopped around" or is Craig Cameron sounding out the market to see what price some rival clubs might be willing to pay, which is quite different if you're the GM to how it sounds to the Club Captain. From another angle, if this rumour has come via club sources from player agents then it's more of a case of May's agent stirring the pot to see how things develop.

No matter which way you look at it, the Suns won't make the same mistakes they made with Lynch and are looking to gain maximum benefit if they are forced to trade May, whereas, from the player's point of view he'd be walking away from a fat contract and ambassador money. If things reach crisis point, I think Gillon McLachlan needs to intervene and straighten this out. Can't say I'm too impressed with Craig Cameron's list management thus far given he's failed to retain Lynch and seems to have upset May.

Sam Gilbert, perhaps unsurprisingly, has been delisted today. Could he be the Suns' Luke Hodge? Bring him in for a dozen games on a rookie contract, have him mentoring talent talent like Scrimshaw, Ballard, Koenen and Graham. Maybe even see if he's interested in a development role and playing NEAFL for a couple of seasons as needed? I know this suggestion is going to get flamed, but it is worth having a look at a Queenslander, surely?

As outsiders, that version of what is happening and May's response to it seems incredibly unlikely.

Flat out no. He has been a useless footballer for the last 2 years
