And not when they played us 2 weeks ago. :D
2 weeks ago Bailey did not play :)

Cats midfield is overloaded. I don't see Bailey to play first year for Cats. Yet Cats are in lot of troubles I think. Most of their midfielders don't like to defend, Selwood on decline, holes everywhere, bottom 6 players worst of all finalists,... it was like old Holden vs young Ferrari.

They are going to have to do something very creative to get a deal done because they are not going to get him on the cheap. They won’t get him for something like pick 20, like they hope.
Maybe but all clubs over value their players, clubs aren’t going to over pay for him
And if as suspected he nominates Carlton I think you will get their PP.

BTW It would be mad of us to give up a pick at the elite end for 2 lucky dip picks. I understand the thinking as you guys are desperate to get Luko and Rankine but the cost of getting those picks would be too high and. Ertainly higher than 7 and 12

Good luck I hope you work something out, maybe Carlton’s PP and 7 to get Saints pick to get Rankine?

I put this on the Adelaide board. What do you think?

Pick 1, 7 and 12 for pick 2 and 3?

Gold Coast receive: pick 1, pick 7 and pick 12
Gold Coast lose: Pick 2 and 3

Carlton gain: McGovern and pick 2
Carlton lose: Pick 1 and pick 12

Adelaide gain: Pick 3
Adelaide lose: McGovern and pick 7
No way.... just how does Adelaide get Lukosius with pick 3?? We can use picks 2 or 3 for a player we need. This deal is a loss for us IMO

Pick 3 could be Rankine with Betts not getting any younger . Fogarty can temporary replace Mitch .

It simply depends on the drafting strategy your club have. They may have a very different order and rank Lukosius at 4 or 5 with the King brothers sitting at 2 and 3.

Pick 2 is pretty simple - Walsh or Lukosius.
Pick 3 - Rankine or Smith.

Suns have so many picks this year it's not even funny and still priority pick coming most probably. Suns may actually package two 2nd round picks to get another 1st round pick. No incentives to trade pick 2/3.

Anyone who has opinion on GAZ watch the final quarter of last nights game and especially fourth quarter between the 6: 30 minute to go mark and 5 minutes to go he had a guy run around him and drop the ball and he barely raised a jog then dodged a Melbourne playing running near him and didn't tackle him actually avoided him...………. I couldn't believe how blatant it was

Possibly correct but stranger things have happened.

Tom Boyd and Jack Watts were the consensus number 1 pick and look how that turned out. Plenty of water to go under the bridge.

Aye but that's just it, they both went at 1. How they turned out doesn't effect where they were drafted. Lukosius and Walsh are gonna go at 1 and 2

That is the reason why GC won't gave up pick 2,3 for Pick 1 . Who in the club history gave up pick 2 , 3 for pick 1 and then pick Boyd or Jack Watts type will be the biggest laughing stock .

That's when I posted he was obviously still working super hard on D ;)
For a guy who won a couple of Brownlow's I've always been surprised, even when he was with, at his foot skills.
He does that up and under thing rather than the worm burner /stab you'd expect
I was always frustrated at how long his foot passes took to reach their target

I’m not blowing smoke up your arse but I like the Suns and want you guys to suceed.

However, now GAJ is gone I think your club can really start making massive strides forward.

Personal opinion, I think you could use a Brendon Goddard for a year or 2 but now GAJ is gone, your identity will take shape. I never thought he was a great fit and never really helped develop the identity of your club.

Is enough analysis done to see if that player really fits the system they are going to?

You are possibly correct and Walsh and Lukosius become the 2 stand out players but I don’t believe its game over for them becoming 1 and 2

Like the Sun is nothing , you need to propose something decent to convince your idea work . Suggesting giving up 2,3 for pick 1 and then said Pick 1 could be Tom Boyd or Jack Watts make you look like ..............

To be honest, any 2 of Walsh, Lukosius, Smith and Rankine would be great for Suns. I would definitely stay away from Max King as he is a high risk to do ACL again.

Rankine is a massive flight risk as well.

Does it matter ? GC get to choose whoever they want except one player that go pick 1.

Of course it matters.

No one wants a draft bust, no matter what number you pick him.

Would you prefer Greg Oden or Kevin Durant?

Exactly , you still get value for Jack Lever .

Losing Lynch though, Lukosius makes the most sense for us of all clubs.

Have definitely heard this one. I guess we'd just have to back ourselves if we took him and he sounded convincing during the interview he did the other day about wanting to play AFL anywhere. would rather go Smith with pick 3 though anyway and we're more in need of a good midfielder than a small forward

To be honest, what makes perfect sence is to offer Mitch McGovern a contract he can not turn down. Thats your perfect deal.

Street and McGovern would be a good 1, 2 punch.

McGovern's best season in one of the best teams and in a forward line with Walker, Lynch, Jenkins, and Betts is 32 goals. He's a below average key forward and not worth the money he's being paid. Would be livid if we offered him a big contract

Agree. I understand Adelaide fans want a best deal but suggestions that pick 1 or 2/3 should be involved in McGovern deal are ridiculous. Late first round at best.
