None of that makes any sense for the Suns who are happy with Lukosius or Walsh. Why don't Carlton give us pick 1 + something extra in return for pick 2? It helps you out to get Adelaide off your tail. So you're winning, right?

I would have thought it would be a win-win as GCS has first choice at the player they want (win), and Carlton gets a slight upgrade on a second round pick (win).

If GCS position is that they will take whoever Carlton does not pick, and does not want full control over their first pick this year, then I guess there is no upside.

Was not aware that GCS was ambivalent to taking Walsh or Lukosius (I doubt this is the case, but I'll defer to your views). Thought they wanted the latter full stop.

This scenario is what has made me concede that taking pick #3 is the best route to go down, however, if Carlton deal the #1 pick then why not put Lynch up and try to get a better deal than #3?

Would be interested in your opinion on what would be the better deal thats actually able to get done, Realistically

To stock up our midfield we should maybe look to see if we can prise out some Melbourne midfielders out of there. The likes of Vandenberg and Neal-Bullen who wouldn't be on a lot there, behind the big money players of Brayshaw, Oliver and Viney, could give them a good offer to see if they are interested, start building an experienced midfield.

It is true that we don’t have a preference, both are very high quality players. Pick 1 Just doesn’t gain us anything

not up to standard. let him develop in either the VFL or TSL and have a look in a few years time but big no for now.

In his draft year from highlights I saw seemed like a pretty solid 6 foot 3 half back flanker with a long left kick.
Akin to a Bailey Williams, Jimmy Webster, late career Jordan Lewis type.

Massive Disclaimer I haven't watched any of him since he was drafted
In saying that his VFL form this year obviously didn't inspire the coaches. Was named in the best only once in 16 games.
57% kicking efficiency - bit alarming for a defender - had a lot of uncontested marks so probably was involved in a bit of chipping the ball around.
Didn't kick a goal all year either

His one AFL games he had 1 kick and 1 mark..

Wouldn't mind a flyer on him though depending on how the list spots end up.

• Two players in interesting positions on the Suns are Aaron Hall and Kade Kolodjashnij who, for different reasons, didn’t feature much in 2018.

• Hall, who has been linked to moves away from the Suns, hurt his shoulder while Kolodjashnij has battled in the aftermath of multiple concussions in recent seasons.

• Dew revealed both could be on the move during the upcoming trade period.

• “Hally is probably weighing up where he is at and we are a little bit the same,” Dew said.

• “With our chat with Hally it’s let’s just see what the next month brings. He is probably weighing up if he needs a change and we might be weighing up where Hally fits in our system. I think that will play out in the next month.

• “We need midfield depth but I think we have a fair few insiders so I think we need some guys who can play multiple roles as well because if you have too many one dimensional players than guys get parked in line,” Dew said.

• “We need guys who can play midfield but can also play forward and half-back I think both inside and outside.

• “We have got some players who can do that but you would love more options.”

• Dew said Richmond’s Anthony Miles and Geelong’s George Horlin-Smith were both intriguing potential recruits who could be targeted by the club but believed Sydney’s Nick Newman was unlikely to leave the Swans.

• “Anthony is an interesting one in terms of his competitive nature and good character,” Dew said.

• “He probably reminds me a little bit of Aaron Young in the sense that Port Adelaide loved Youngy as a bloke and for his character and therefore were happy to see him get an opportunity somewhere else.

• “Richmond have been pretty open with the fact that Miles probably fits into that category where if he can get an opportunity to play more senior footy I think they would be open to it.

• “(Horlin-Smith) is probably similar in that he has been there seven or eight years. They are guys to look at. He is probably one you look at and go well he can play a number of positions, he comes from a good system, has good training habits and good durability.

• “We haven’t spoken to Nick at all. He has just finished up on the weekend. With players like that it’s hard to know and I know Nick as well.

He has been consistent with this all year. Reason why Barlow has been moved on. Need players who you can throw around to get the best result.
