This club kills every glimmer of hope I have. Finally resigned to having zero expectations.

You might at least wait for official verification. Damien Barrett is even worse than Andrew Hamilton. He spreads very targeted rumours with the intent to cause maximum damage. The campaign has been going for years! Don’t forget this is the same flog pushing for our franchise to be transferred to Tasmania.

All my lowered expectations are currently being met.....

But remain ever hopeful about the future. Sounds like some highly rated kids are available in the draft. Dew has had a season as coach, would hope he is better in the coming season. Certainly will have more ownership of the list. We have got some decent young talent, there is a chance several of them could push up to A graders.

But it is hard to go forward when A graders and good players are leaving. Patience required. Not just for trade/free agency/draft this season, but until we are good enough to chase finals.

Actually the opposite for me if the recent proposal to get MAY out as a free agent becomes approved i would be stoked. This club is in desperate need of not a rebuild but a restart. Anyone players or admin at the club that isnt 110% committed for the long haul should be cut out ASAP. And to get potentially 3 top 5 picks in a year where the top 7 players are all touted as #1 picks any other year would be a huge boost to the potential of the club and we can start again to create a positive culture here on the GC.

I like the optimism, which as Suns fans is the only thing we have at this stage, i would just like too see the Vic media get it wrong and see May recommit, even though it seems unlikely. The amount of rumors that get pumped out about our club is ridiculous but is hard to see light at the end of the tunnel with all the talent walking out he door every year.

I come in peace

Very upset to read the RUMOURS that may now also wants out. If it is the case then I hope the afl allows the contract ripping to enable FA compensation. Picks 2,3,4 would be a massive boon to the suns. Would enable taking all 3 KPP players in lukosuis(if the rumours of Walsh to blues is true) and the kings. Or even lukosuis, rankine and smith.

Good luck with the trade period and I hope to see the suns rise soon

Only Murdoch media is reporting the May story. Fairfax have left it alone, ABC have ignored it, afl.com.au hasn't mentioned it apart from Barrett frothing at the mouth. This actually has elements of the recent PM spill about it. Turnbull was preferred PM in the polls and had won a spill against Dutton, but the dodgy media kept pushing and pushing until they got Turnbull toppled when the numbers against him weren't strong enough to beat him.

The same is going on here with a concerted effort of fake news stories constantly hammering the Gold Coast Suns. It is actually a disgusting form of bullying that the Media gets away with because sheeple lap it up. Believing the bullshit is the same as supporting it. Pull your bloody heads in and give our CLUB CAPTAIN a break! Until he says he's gone, he's a Sun. But if I was him reading the crap you're all writing I'd rip up my contract on the spot, which is what the media wants.

Which the AFL has previously said they wouldn’t do. Are you happy to wait another 8 years?

Be realistic, 3-4 years.
I’d love him to stay too, but he’s gone.
We need to stop acting like stage 5 clingers. Especially when you have fresh talent coming in the door.
Regroup and stoke the fires for success.

Don't get me wrong I will rock up every week next year and hold belief one day it will happen. I will never stop being a member and fan. It is just hard to have any expectations anymore.

What a sad and disheartening week for the Suns firstly the Barlow interview obviously some sour grapes but also some home truths,
now the news that May possibly wants out ,can it possibly get any worse .I crave for the day when we have some positive headline
news that we can all get excited about.
As an" oldie" I will follow them forever but am concerned about our young 7 to 12 year olds supporters who have seen there idols depart in
record numbers in the past couple of years, if we don't become more competitive in next couple of years we risk losing some of these followers.
Right now the reality is
Gone Lynch Hall May ?
Gain Miles Horlin -Smith Newman Collins
Star quality for honest toilers who add a bit of depth but no real quality to our list.
Over the past two years we have lost the equivalent of Richmond losing Rance, Riewodlt, Cotchin, Martin and Edwards;where would they sit
without those guys.
Difficult to become successful and build culture and atmosphere ( big crowds) when you lose such quality in a short period of time.
Right now Tony Cochrane , Mark Evans , Stuey Dew and their staff have the biggest challenge in the history of the AFL.
25 years ago they let an original club Fitzroy go under because at the time they didn't want them to survive; the AFL want the Suns
to survive and somehow need to find ways to make it happen.
The "most" exciting day for me as a current Sun supporter is Draft day ! Why!
Its the one day of the year we are the envy of every other club in that we normally get to pick the cream of the crop with several picks.
To stay in some sort of positive mind Ive looked at things that could occur to help make us more competitive
1 Our draft of 2016 Brodie Bowes Scrimshaw Ainsworth and Scheer develop the way we hoped.
2 We need some diamonds to come out of the Academy in the next couple of years ( desperately need Bailey Scott to choose us)
3 This years draft seems to be as good as it gets ,we most likely will have several picks in the top 30 ,we cannot afford to stuff this up.
For me would draft as many of the SA boys as possible in the believe they along with our other youth can drive a culture that forms
a successful club.
My preference in order Lukocious Rankine Hately Rozee if not Smith and Stocker.

Rankine may be your preference, but I would suggest that the Suns really don't want a guy who is actively putting it out there that he doesn't really want to leave SA. Not a guy you want if your trying to move the club forward out of the shit of recent years.

Love the talent Rankine displays, but he gives me a bit of the Chad Wingard figjam vibe.

KK training in Geelong with his brother Jake today. Any update if he is staying or going.

That's interesting, I think that there has been discussion around trading him out. Wish him well if he can make something happen elsewhere, just hasn't come on with his neck issues.

No updates but if KK wanted a trade to Geelong I think the club would let him go he's been through hell the last few years.

We know the Suns are looking at Horlin-smith i wonder if they are also looking at someone like Jackson Thurlow.
Do you know if he's still out of contracted

Cats not allowed to trade 1st rounder this year
i think the rule on that is different to what most people think if i remember correctly. I'm pretty sure trading your first round pick this year is considered 'using' that pick which is allowed. what you can't do is trade a future pick. it would also be acceptable anyway if we gave you KK and 17 for pick 11
