West Coast look like losing Scott Lycett and with NicNat not due to return well into 2019, what are the Suns chances of getting back that 2nd rounder for Tom Nicholls? Ruckmen will be in high demand because there aren't many in the Draft and we all know it takes years to develop them anyway.

Reasons to trade:
- Witts clearly number 1 ruckman at the Suns
- Crossley and Wright backups with more upside
- Day most likely to chop out
- getting a trade for him this year compared to little or no compo when he walks out in 2019

Nicholls is Fijian, as is NicNat, which may not mean much but it is something. West Coast still play a 2 ruckman game style, so Nicholls could look forward to more AFL after 2 years in NEAFL and being injured.

Mate, it is a really hot market for ruckmen. The Eagles are about to pay overs for Tom Hickey. St Kilda have no ruckmen under contract if Hickey goes. Brayden Preuss wants to leave North Melbourne for a chance at getting 1st ruck duties elsewhere. Why are we keeping Nicholls again? You might not like him or rate him, but if he's tradebait and in demand why wouldn't the Suns ask for decent compensation?

I think all of Preuss, Hickey Roughead have shown more, more recently than Nicholls. It was obviously lost in transmission, but the Nicholls for our own pick was me being ironic. Maybe even sardonic. His name is being mentioned though and the Suns are clearing out roster spots. Not a long bow at all, so maybe talk up his merits and wish him the best of luck instead of trashing him! Yay team!

Sorry to intrude, but I really hope Melb does not get May. My club needs him more than theirs. I feel like the Suns, if they can't get a commitment from him this year, they should trade him. Nobody wants another Lynch situation for the entire 2019. This club needs stability.
