Sick of players nominating clubs. If scrim nominates hawks ill go heave. Something not right in our game when a kid with only 2 years in the system under contract and played a handful of games can dictate he wishes to go to the club he supported growing up.

No offence to a young player ; but if scrimshaw is struggling to get a game at the suns, it might be a while before he breaks into the hawks line up.
He might be better off proving himself as a player up here where he has a chance of getting a regular game.
I agree , just trying to work out if worse situation happen .

Dean Towers an interesting Sydney delist
They really couldn't find a trading partner? I guess he's not really someone who was ever on anyone's radar except for Sydney's and his age is a concern. Still, he could be a potential Rookie list pickup. We had no 28 yos this year and won't have any next season, so his age profile if anything is a good thing. Dew will have a reasonable assessment and Sydney will tell him if he's become a dud. I remember watching him excell in AFLX and wishing we had guys like him on our list.

Theoretically if a deal goes down of:

Melbourne
Lose: Jesse Hogan + 33
Gain: Fremantle future first + Steven May

Fremantle
Lose: Pick 6 + future first
Gain: Jesse Hogan + 33

Gold Coast
Lose: Steven May
Gain: Pick 6

I would be looking to trade 6 and 26 to Saints for 4
then 4, 17 and 29 to Carlton for pick 1

use the first 3 picks of the draft: Sam Walsh, Ben King, Max King then just wait on a couple of academy bids.
I would be okay with that as a result.

That Luko stuff I will take as gossip and rumour for now. It's the first I've heard him presented that way.
Sort of stuff the SA BF posters put out there thinking it makes a difference in the real world

Look at the 2018 year ...New CEO, Coach, List Manager, Team Manager, the entire Player welfare team exited, assistant coaches gone, a game plan and drafting focus on lock down defence first and attack second (which may well change next year with rule changes that aim to open the game up). After all that upheaval considered, do you still think its something not right in the game?

I like aspects of it, dislike others. Getting a pick from Freo is a fine outcome, but I think you are selling May short. The Suns have the whip hand because May is contracted and the other clubs want the deal more.

I also question what value the Suns would get by moving from #6 to #4. There will still be an awesome player no matter who is chosen in the first 5. I do like your idea of trading up, but I think we can get 4 high picks with a little more hard bargaining.

Not sold on Max King at all either.

Getting 6 for May is already factoring in the overs we get for him being contracted. off contract he might be worth a pick in the early teens.
the trade from 6->4 was to enable the seond jump with that pick to one. Carlton wouldnt take 6, they MIGHT take 4.
2,3,6 doesnt sound as good as 1,2,3 does it. considering we probably wont use many more picks than that I'd be stoked with that outcome.

I will be happy to take 2 ,3 ,6 and 18 to the draft . Sometime pick 6, pick 18 perform better than 1, 2,3 due to less pressure .

2017 pick 6 Stephenson ( Rising star play in GF), pick 18 Higgins (play in preliminary Finals .

Pick 1 Rayner
Pick 2 Brayshaw
Pick 3 Paddy Dow
Pick 4 LDU
Pick 5 Cerra .

Where is “17er”? Why suspended?

There goes any leveridge with Scrimshaw.

Craig cameron pretty much said he doesnt have the AFL worth ethic needed to be a professional on the Gold Coast.
on sportsday radio.

Did say he is contracted and its upto us what we do
His manager basically said the same thing

I've sort of been sitting on this for a little bit but thought I'd share anyway. I don't want to make our resident Scrimshaw-related lurker/poster upset. :/

My understanding on Scrimshaw is that GC will definitely trade him if a club is willing to pick him up. With this in mind GC won't just give him away for a bag of chips, but he's certainly gettable. Whether a club is willing to pick him up is another story, given his current salary and contract length.
You were on the money yesterday Sunny_ it seems

You are either off the mark there or Craig Cameron has trouble with being honest as I had a conversation with him about his areas of improvement required and there was never a mention of work ethic. Given I took Craig to be a pretty nice guy Ill back the former. I understand Scrim well and Ive only ever seen complete dedication. Yes, he lost a little focus after his close auntie died and was deflated over a KO and seperate fractured cheek but work ethic questions? No way!

The audio is on this thread a few posts above.

understand your desire to bat for the kid due to your rumoured family relation but the change of the club hierarchy and potential rule changes doesn't give a kid 2 years into an AFL Career with a 4 year contract the right to choose to relocate to his preferred team. preferred state? yeah ill give him that. don't agree with it but some can't handle being away from home.

Yeah I agree with Cameron every time I've watched training scim looks very lazy.

I don't think he's ever giving 100% go back and look at his face on draft night he looked so p***** when the Suns picked him.

I hope we hold him to his contract if we don't get something we want for him
