May + KK for pick 5 , Jayden Hunt +++++?

I’m getting the vibe that Cameron is deadset on keeping May unless we’re paid massive overs. Something along the lines of pick 5+6 (which to any incoming Melbourne fans is obviously a ridiculous price, but that’s just what it sounds like when he talks about the potential of May leaving this year)

I don't think Criag want more draft pick . Max three in Top 10 are enough this year IMO , getting 4 top 10 will end up like 2016 again where one or two players could be neglect or under develop ( Brodie , Scrimshaw) . Best solution May extend his contract

I agree, but we could package up picks 5/6 for pick 1 though. Pulling in Sam Walsh, Max King and Ben King, with 1/2/3 and I doubt any of them would struggling to break into the team.we’re already filling in gaps with mature agents and a few players like miles and GHS.

But yes obviously best case is May re-signs

Makes sense to keepnmay for a year while kids develop and let him go the following year for pick 2

Not keen on keeping him really.
He’ll be like a cancer (ablett) in his last year
The kids need strong examples set.

Not some punk in the corner sulking and getting suspended all year

But at same time.

Get maximum value for him. Hold out till the last minute if need be.

I just read that Hogan toured Freo’s facilities today. Looking very likely it will pave the way for May to the Dees. Just seems a matter of time until the trade requests are made.

But I get the impression today Cameron will want a sweetener on top of the pick 5? Could we expect a 2019 pick as well?
Melbourne will have egg on their face if they fail to land May after letting Hogan go. Reckon we could squeeze a second rounder out of them as well as Pick #5.

We were super young as it was this year. Do we put a kid in for May? Does that stunt the development of the kids we bring in? Getting pumped by 100 points every week

I know you like Sam Walsh , but I just can't see Carlton giving up on pick 1. As a club don't think GC able to deflect attention from Vic media toward pick 1 and King brothers if result turn bad for GC on field. Just look at Fremantle Cerra as an eg aafirst year player , every Vic club already sniff around for his signature and speculated that he is homesick .

Doesnt need to be a kid.. trade pick 5 or alike for future first from a mid tier team plus a mid 20s this year.
And pick up a mature ager with the pick in 20s pickett or grigg or alike

As much I like mature age players , please expect at least 2 out of 5 might not make it. if all make it I expect top 8 from GC .

Use a pick to poach jayden laverde?

Pick 5 or alike opens up many opportunities for picks or players this year or next or a mixture of both

What's the guarantee if May is a FA next year the compo is a pick after our 1st round selection, not end of 1st round?

Surely he wouldnt walk from a million dollar contract to a 600k a year

Think you need to be in top 25% pay bracket at the club to get first rd compo?

Could be wrong...
Might be?

If he waits until next year he will have 3-4 clubs in a feeding frenzy so the contract will have be high enough.

If he accepted a low ball contract and we don't get the FA compo we want then we match and force a trade for a 1st rd pick + ?. Makes no sense for the club trading for him to not pay him enough so they would get him for free.

May would be an unrestricted free agent next year. Club can't match.

Does age come into it for compensation ?

Losing a 28 year old hurts for less than a 26 year old

I am disappointed with Camrons comments on Scrim, “encouraged to look elsewhere “ “would play his best football in Melbourne “

Either we are a nunnery were all we care about is the players poor feeling or they don’t think he is going to make it. Just another poor effort from our club

I don't think GC will be the youngest list next year .
1) Corbett 23
2) Sam Collins 25
3) marlion Pickett 27

GHS 27
Miles 27
Corey Ellis 23
GHS won the cats Clubman of the Year award
Won't even mention my delight that their B&F winner wasn't one of their extraordinary midfield

Were you more disappointed with Cameron's comments or Weller's comments on trade radio last year [emoji51]

My mum once told me if you can't say something to improve your bargaining position in a trade don't say anything at all.

Only way this comment helps is if he is trying to flush out more buyers from the Melbourne clubs to drive up the price.
