I think we need to take Rozee at 3. I’ve had a man love for Bailey Smitj all year and I still think he is the best mid in this draft but Rozee is right up there. He has all the tools to be a star and has played very bloody well against senior SANFL competition. The fact that he is also great mates with Lukosius helps. Rozee has good pace and is still developing which means more improvement. Taking him and luko at 2 and 3 would be perfect. Luke Valente is another I would look at with West Coast pick if he makes it till then. Hard nosed SA mid which keeps the theme going and is a pretty good player himself.

I think we need 4 top 6 picks to get - Lukosius, Rozee, Smith, Rankine. Anybody else wants to leave besides Lynch and May? :-)

Do the young kids like Bowes and Scheer buy into this? They know it’s a long road ahead but success at end of the tunnel?
If they don't buy into this , they can request to be trade out . Surely culture are not build around by two players.

I was not doubting them. Just asking the question in hope someone might know the answer

It’s a good question. I suppose both of those boys have now experienced a year under Dew and also a year under the old regime.
Without knowing them there is no doubt they both improved this year and hopefully think we are going in the right direction and are on board.

If we only have 2/3 then Lukosius and Rozee. If we end up with 2/3/5 then Lukosius, Smith at 3 and I think we can still get Rozee at 5. Smith could be gone by 4. Rankine does seem to me to be the biggest flight risk of the four based on rumours but the club would have the best idea of this after all the interviews etc. so I’d avoid him unless we end up with 4 picks.

Ben Cavarra (Williamstown)
A perennial mention on these lists since missing out in the 2013 drafts. Cavarra's resume is immense: two best and fairests for TAC Cup club Eastern Ranges, as well as winning the Morrish Medal, and another two for Frankston in the VFL. Switched to the Seagulls this year and has shone with his skill and pressure as a 175cm forward.

Not sure how they missed this name though.

All this kid does is star at every level he has ever played.

He sounds like the ultimate pro, would be dog hungry and would murder it at the NEAFL level and could be a shot as a small pressure forward / mid at the AFL level

Take him as Rookie . One year will be able to see he have it or not .

Love to use a pick on Tom Berry good for big Q clash .
If you are talking about Tom bell - big big no.

Brisbane would be cheering if we picked him.

Built like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
Probably In the 5 worst kicks in the competition.

He’s talking about Tom Berry - Jarrod Berry’s brother. Vic country boy, should be there at pick 19 in the draft

Any thoughts/guesses/predictions on what deals get done early or later in the trade period?

Just interested in getting some discussion going on the last day of pre-trade.

Dom Tyson for KK may happen if Tyson wants to come to GC - both high draft picks that have underwhelmed but play in areas of the ground that each team could use more help in.

Only problem is Tyson is a lot like Lyons and he was getting dropped last year for team balance.

not sure why tyson is being suggested as part of the trade, considering he already left an expansion club to play home in victoria. i'd rather go for someone like josh wagner who's a queenslander. if we're being cheeky i'd go for someone like mitch hannan, although i doubt melbourne would want to give him up.

I prefer Josh Wagner , his brother Corey was playing some good footy with Casey in VFL this year after been delisted by North Melbourne. Tyson just too one dimension will create unbalance to the overall list .

I suppose getting dropped from a top 4 team has more going for it than being dropped from our side.
He did play in their team for the entire 2nd half of the year including 3 finals. I think he can bring some benefit to our young midfield.
The knock on him was his disposal but he did clean that up last year at 72%.
I'd take him for 2-3 years no probs at all.
