I thought he would be a good pickup for the Giants but with Lobb and Shiel leaving I would the club only picks Victorians and NSW now as the risk of losing the player is too great

Just a question for the Board in how many list changes do you think will happen?
Out
Lynch
Barlow
Jaska
Willis
Spencer
And not sure if their has been another announcements on delistings but would you think around 10 changes including rookies?
And it is 3 extra list spots on the rookie list and what was said about the length of time for the spots and the salary is outside the cap?

If Hogan deal falls over then I hope we hold May to his contract as neither Pies or Demons will have the currency to get a decent deal done.

I know his manager said he won't go into next season without a long-term deal with the Suns but that's how it might end up.

Like if i had to... i guess i’d accept pick 2 or 3 or 4 as a compo pick next year for him leaving

Meant to be another super draft next year lol

Matt rowell wowee

Would you swap pick 2 , 19 ,24 ,29 for pick 8 , 13 ,16,21
GC end up with pick 3 , 8 , 13,16 ,21 .
Swap 2 for 3 and it looks feasible.

Get Luko and end up with no kid from the elite 8.

To do this you would have to be pretty high on players 13-21 Vs 19-29 which is counter to the conventional wisdom from the so called draft experts who think 9-30 is relatively even.

This was briefly on Lions website this afternoon before removed. Official tomorrow?

The Brisbane Lions have traded three 2018 AFL Draft picks with the Gold Coast Suns on the second day of AFL Trade Period.

The Lions will gain picks 32, 41, 44, 77 in exchange for picks 24, 58 and 79.
Could be stepping stone to doing a deal with the Hawks

Scrim + 24 for 13

2, 3, 13, 18, 26

Silly move for him - Kangaroos have plenty on inside mids. Hopefully his contract doesn't have too many games played bonuses as he could be in and out of that side the rest of his career.

I really can't see us trading out pick 2 or 3. We want picks in the top 10, so it would have to be a combo of picks in there for us to part with 3. In other words: way overs.

Definitely wont let go of 2. Lock Luko in 100%. We love him and he wants to be here.

Keep it simple in the trade and draft period.
  1. Try to get A graders from other clubs.
  2. If can't get A graders, get solid mature citizens who can play a bit and will fit with the culture and system of the current head coach. Don't overpay them.
  3. Don't overpay for B graders. We can find B graders all on our own. (No Tyson, thanks).
  4. Accumulate high draft picks.
  5. Pick good young players who are excited to come to a young team on the coast, not just excited to be picked. Talent counts, but so does the type of person.
  6. Don't try to be too cute trading out players. Get a fair deal and move on. Winning trades is pointless unless you also win games.

HS saying we seem to be into Jye Caldwell. Hope this is the case as he’s exactly what we need. Explosive inside mid, good kick and ripper kid.
He is a very good kid, watched him play a bit of footy being a Bendigo local. Although I don’t know if he will last till our west coast pick.

2-6 I think we’re doing well.
1 was never an option this year due to cap issues I believe.

The Melb board are saying May requested a trade last night, but don't have a source or much further discussion. All bullshit?

2) Lukosius
3) Rozee
19) Caldwell
24) Ohalloran
29) take your pick - McLennan?

How does that look draft experts?

There was an article on The Roar saying he did, but it was 'rumoured'. Given that The Roar is pretty much an extension of BigFooty, yeah, just consider it to be BS.
