Hmm what’s the thinking behind this?

We don’t have the list spots to keep all those picks? Highly doubt we use any picks outside the 30 that aren’t a rookie upgrade

I understand the desire to move up the draft order but target north, sydney, collingwood. The clubs that have F/S or academy draft selections. For a higher pick.

We do have an academy selection. You did get a higher pick.

True , but isn't it good to ask a future 3rd in return so GC can use it next year to move up to Top 30 next year also .Rebuild is a long process.

Yeah maybe.
It might have been done to push along the Neale to Brisbane trade somehow which helps with the May trade. Time will tell

5 picks in the top 30 is a good platform to get some good young talent in.

I wonder if that 5th pick is bookmarked for Marlion Pickett, making sure we get him in the draft before other clubs?

So short sighted , Brisbane need point for their academy players this year , what about Aston , Budarick and Joyce for next year draft .

Quite possibly. Another guy I'd look at is Maguire from Canberra.

We seem to have cooled on Collins? Maybe we got Burgess to fill that intercept type role.

Is there any word on Jack Leslie? Is the club waiting on May before deciding his future?

I dont mind the trade. Considering our only academy players will be late picks/hopefully through the rookie draft, the points are fairly irrelevant to us. And seeing as we have said we want 5 picks inside 30, anything outside of that is useless to us. We now have:

2,3,19,24,29,58,79

That gives us the resources to move up again and with 19,24,29 potentially, seeing as Sydney just gave up 13 for 26 and 28?


Also interesting, Port now have 10 and 11 and Adelaide have 8,13 and 16. You would think both will now be all over us looking for 2 or 3. Would potentially deal with Adelaide for 3 if we were sure Rozee would last giving us lukoscious and Rozee + 13. But I think if we did that Port would jump above us with 10 and 11 and we would miss out. More of a draft night trade I would have thought.

If KK and Scrim trade does not go as well as GC want , GC will end up short because of Brisbane draft pick swap .
