My apologies if you got the impression I wasnt calm. Certainly appreciate your opinion. I hope I can offer some valid insights so people who dont see much of a player can get a clearer picture.

This year he averaged 24 poss mostly from half back with 7 the lowest when ko’d. Very good numbers for a 19yo IMO.
He played 14 games and averages 19 positions and only 2 rebound 50s and 1 tackle a game that's very poor numbers in a low level comp.

He would have been very lucky to get a game for box hill Hawks this year.

Are you stalking me fan? Haha you think its bashing? Id suggest you take a more positive outlook.
Not at all mate it's just very clear who you are.
We have had a few people like you drop in to defend their boys in the past.
You can have your opinion that's fine I just don't appreciate you bashing the Suns and blaming them for Scrim poor development.

He's got no one to blame but himself for not being professional enough and asking for extra help if that's what he needed.
The 3 other kids he was drafted with have had no problems developing under the same coaches and environment so maybe he need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Any kid would love to be in Scrim position it's time he mans up.

Considering Lynch, who has the potential to be the best forward in the game is leaving that group we look okay. It just depends on how much we get out of Wright and Day next year. Wright should be a 40 goals+ player and Day should be kicking more as well. The expectation is low next year for Burgess, Lukosious (if we pick him) and Crossley because they will take a while but i think midfield is still our biggest concern. Would be nice to add another Weller type player in the last three days of the trade period.

To be honest.

With Corbett Burgess and Collins and May staying.

I dont see Day playing seniors often unless theres an injury.

Day doesnt hit the scoreboard and takes minimal marks

The 4 guys above all have sticky fingers to the maximum and play taller then they are

I’d be offering day and Nicholls to saints plus 19 and 24
for pick 4

Emptys the salary cap and list

And means we get lukosius rozee/rankine and Smith :D

Everyone got to remember the draft still 6 weeks away
Gives lukosius rankine and Rozee plenty of time to get caught drink driving Aka Curnow and tumble down the draft board.
I prefer the “fondling a young lady in the tent” Jack Darling method. Makes them look less stupid.

Gotta laugh at the parent who comes in to defend his poor hard done by son who's homesick 1.5hrs by plane away.

In this life the people who win are those who take full ownership of everything that happens to them. He's an elite athlete getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. I don't give a shit if your an introvert. You want to succeed? Go seek out the coaches. Crying poor with him is enabling him to have a losers attitude.

Stop coddling him, he's a grown ass man and he needs to grab it by the balls. Wouldn't last 5 minutes in the NFL or NBA.

Yes correct, thank you for the accurate info!

The problem was not being played over other less consistent players. The consistency was due to set backs to fitness not effort.

The club called it dangling a carrot when they made him emergency so many times but without communication it was interpreted as the coach doesnt want me here. By not playing him it brought oppo clubs to the door.

Then reported salary cap issues, made it worse.

and bingo..player wants out! All they had to do was talk to him and show support.

Unfortunately you are correct.
I’m tired of seeing you arguing on here now, but you are right in what you say.

I can back this one up by another players account, one who we should be keeping that the coach has not spoken to since his last game for the suns.

Gun clubs are bending over for him and we can’t even call him up to chat...
It blows his 27yro mind.
They are young lads with egos, they’re brains are not built to go and find the coach and chat to grow, the coach needs to put effort in and go the extra mile to support them unfortunately.

This is a chink in our armour that I believe does need to be sorted out ASAP. I really don’t like writing like this especially about the club I love, but I also realise that to grow you need to be aware of your downfalls and better them. If the coach doesn’t want to do it, employ a young minded middle man who will gel with the players and discuss candid topics and how they feel and pass the info on.
Would do us a world of good and keep the coaches updated on their players thoughts and feelings.

a couple of the paywall sites saying we've signed sam collins

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...t/news-story/d827cd66339babbcb53f6b8f358cdd4e

Scrimshaw, Hall & Kolodjashnij will be moved on for 2019 draft selections.

Suns now plan on signing Collins even if May stays.

Suns and May to have a mature attitude to his impending departure next season if he stays on for 2019. Although Mays preference is to get to the Dees this year, it seems unlikely and he will wait to be a RFA.

Should the Dees/May trade eventuate however (pick 5), Suns would likely auction that pick to the Crows/Power for multiple picks.

Gromma, as I have posted many times that I would prefer we keep Scrim and I am sure that the club has not handled things perfectly. But like many situations there will be 2 sides to a story.
You mentioned the club didn’t play him after they thought he was going home. Hmmm why would they think that, had Scrim somehow given them that message? It’s unlikely to be one incident. Didn’t Scrim change his social media to being a Hawks supporter directly before the finals and now he is going there? It seems unlikely that Scrim was giving his all and everyone was against him. Clubs are highly unlikely to move on a player that they invested so highly in, a top 10 pick without exploring every avenue to try and make it a success.

As I said every story has two sides. Is it possible that he was not 100% committed in attitude and work ethic as he knew he was going home and not seeing out his contract?

Whatever the full story is I hope he has a long and successful career

Day came off a horrific injury and he did well to firstly get back so quickly, and then perform quite well earlier in the year.
He’s selfless in the roles he performs and it will be interesting to see what they have in order for him. He’s played 2nd fiddle to Dixon and then Lynch up forward and a decoy most times.
He then goes back when injuries occur and can go into the ruck.
I certainly wouldn’t be offloading him and Nichols without suitable replacements in case Witts goes down.

I’d like to see Daysie down back. If May stays, play him up forward to give us a bit more unpredictability and strength. Opposition backs will be looking over their shoulder with May in the vicinity.

Isn’t it disgusting to hear SOS and Cripps from Port opening saying on trade radio this morning they are pretty much targeting whoever we draft early to get back to either Vic or SA after there initial 2 year contracts. The way it was spoken about it’s like a forgone conclusion whoever we draft will leave us

How they can openly say we will try and pinch them back in 2 year and is disgusting. How are we supposed to have any chance of retention when the choice to go back home is so easy

Just mind game from opposition , i go for Lukosius and Rankine if I am Craig Cameron .Two year latetr, there could be a few players up for trade like Wingard, Shiel around .

Scrim on Trade Radio, much much Hawthorn love
Oh well.
Our club asked him for better consistency at an AFL level and weren’t going to back down until he provided this.
Victorian clubs then came knocking?
Piss in his pocket and promise him the world without putting in the necessary effort.
Appalling really.

Hire SA’s u18 coach as a development coach.
Hire lukosius’s old man

Get whoever we need to. So we can hold onto lukosius rankine or Rozee

If we can create a place that players want to stay at, this won't be a problem, pick the best and back us in to keep them. Scrimshaw will only be the 2nd player we have drafted that has left after the 2 year period.

Assume Lukosius and Rankine ask to go back to Adelaide in two years time , paying two years draftees wages still worth it . Port and Adelaide are not guaranteed to finish top 8 in 2020 .

The game where Day busted his shoulder when he was playing down back was the best I've ever seen him. A few minutes before the injury he got possession and exploded off of half-back with his crazy pace. Shook off a would-be tackler and then drilled a kick to someone on the wing. It was the best Day has ever looked.

Surely you play him there.

Put May forward.

All this talk about dew not talking to players i find staggering.
Wasn't it publicly shouted he is a communicator and develops good bonds with the players?
Only thing i can think of is his workload has been to great and he is struggling with his life and work balance.
