Gromma may I ask. You are clearly close with Jack, whether family/ friend etc. But it appears you are in the know with a few youngsters and their families, are you in the football industry? Or just met people through Jack etc.
I ask because I and I think most of us appreciate your comments and insight. The club have admitted fault albeit probably not so much externally and it is clear they are working to fix it.
Whilst I'm sure Jack would admit that things haven't all gone his way . Whether his fault or Not, given the clubs efforts right the wrongs of the past should a trade not eventuate do you think Jack would give his all and show that level of professionalism you're telling us he has? Or would he see it as too little too late ?

Gromma is in a no win situation if he answers that. if he says too little too late, Scrim looks like a brat and if he was to say yes I think we all know he's not coming back

It Looks like its going to be the same as last year 20+ trades done in the last day
Cool as we did so well under pressure last year. We should get Clayton in a room with 10 mins to go and say give us Kennedy, Nic Nat and Yeo now for pick 19, you have 10 secs to decide and then start counting down from 10.

I would also be surprised. But as you correctly stated thrilled. Suffice to say i'm not holding my breath...
Lukosius has been a lock at 2 for months. Rankin is firming at 3

Collins is a good get. Been impressed with your recruiting this year despite all the defectors. Three KPPs mean you can play Lukosius on the wing if you take him instead of having him try to hold down CHF. Too bad you got screwed out of McAdam though.

Reckon you might draft Mitch Grigg or Michael Gibbons for another mature body in midfield?

Don’t think we’re into Gibbons or Grigg, but I think we are a lock for Pickett from the WAFL which should give our midfield a boost

Think your right.

Our deficiencies have been our midfield.. yet we have brang in 3 mature swing man
Added a slow inside bull
And another mid whose played 12 games in 4 years?

I dont see our midfield improving all that greatly so far.

Throw in lukious and Rankine.. our midfirld is almost as bad as it was this year?

You have next year to get more mids. They take less time to come on then KPPs so since you're effectively starting again, may as well get them first.

Hall out (5 games), Barlow out (3 games) and Rosa They are pretty much all that's missing from a midfield of 2018.

On the plus side.
- Brodie, Ainsworth, Bowes with a 3rd pre season should continue to improve and stay in games longer
- Ellis and Miles add big bodies and extra rotations
- GHS if traded the same
- Hanley (only 3 games this year) can rotate through.
- Add 2-3 young inside mids who it appears we are targeting.

I can see massive upside to our midfield. Just have to remember that Miles, Ellis and GHS aren't here to win us a premiership, they are doing a role to support kids.

This is true but we need at least some mids now. Can’t afford another year of getting absolutely pummeled through the guts. We need to get competitive through there otherwise more players will leave. Really hoping we target mostly mids with our draft picks to give them a year in the system prior to getting some guns in 2020.

It’s been reported we will take him in the draft, explaining why we didn’t sign him as a priority access state league.

Already given him the facility tour, etc.

The Scrimshaw thing and the enabling posts by Gromma are doing my head in.
When I think of young teachers/cops/nurses on entry level incomes in places like Moree, Wilcannia, Cloncurry etc in Little Dongas well away from family/friends because they have a Vocational Conviction and then read this self-Entitled weasely blame everyone but yourself whining about a young fella surrounded by people his own age with a truckload of Welfare officers and coaches on exceptional unbelievable money having to suffer living in......wait for it......THE GOLD COAST then it brings bedwetting to another incredible level. But I’ve now seen an insight into how it happens through enabling and the behaviour of other clubs by whispering sweet nothings in the ears of those susceptible to bedwetting....and it’s shameful.
Nothing has changed, we need young men of exceptional heart and loyalty that embrace being pioneers who want to create something way more special than the easy way of getting a premiership ring by jumping on a bandwagon and hiding behind the skirts of a big end of town VFL club.

Was about to post the exact same thing but you have beaten me to it and have articulated much better than l would have

I see a massive upside in Brodie Bowes Fiorini Miller Ainsworth. Massive.

http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-10-11/deadline-day-live-watch-the-deals-go-down

So the AFL has decided to livestream deadline day on their website and apparently there is a theory that they are purposely holding off on revealing some of the bigger deals until then to add more interest.

Surely the AFL would not stoop to this? I guess they have shown they will do anything for media coverage year round.
It would be interesting to watch if deals were not pre-arranged and we got to see what was actually happening in there. Although based on our dealings in the past it would not be allowed to air due to showing nature content.

Getting Miles and Ellis and 1 18yr old mid wont cut it.
We lose the possession count by an average of over 100 a game.

Thats minimum 5 players getting an extra 20 touches a game.

No point having gun centre half forward and centre half back if we got no one in the guts
