Getting Miles and Ellis and 1 18yr old mid wont cut it.
We lose the possession count by an average of over 100 a game.

Thats minimum 5 players getting an extra 20 touches a game.

No point having gun centre half forward and centre half back if we got no one in the guts
In our situation with cap stress, what would you have done differently?
It was either Miles, Ellis & GHS, who are proven AFL players or take the punt on untried state league mids to assist.

I hope you guys tell Port Adelaide right royals where to go with their draft tampering. Select the best kids in the draft and if its those 2 who are supposed to be good mates then pick them. Port are just trying to bully you guys.
They are a bit like that, they did it with the jumpers in China and we said GAGF and I think the answer will be the same this time around

Yeah that was downright stupid.
Its your home game... but you're not allowed to wear your home jumper!

Gromma may I ask. You are clearly close with Jack, whether family/ friend etc. But it appears you are in the know with a few youngsters and their families, are you in the football industry? Or just met people through Jack etc.
I ask because I and I think most of us appreciate your comments and insight. The club have admitted fault albeit probably not so much externally and it is clear they are working to fix it.
Whilst I'm sure Jack would admit that things haven't all gone his way . Whether his fault or Not, given the clubs efforts right the wrongs of the past should a trade not eventuate do you think Jack would give his all and show that level of professionalism you're telling us he has? Or would he see it as too little too late ?
Nutstar I think most here know Im Jacks Dad. During the pathway you are very fortunate to meet all the clubs interested in drafting a player and in his case get to know many parents and kids. The King twins for example played with Jack at Haileybury (school). Its crazy how many teams a player is involved with at U18 level, AFL Academy, State, TAC Cup and school (which is a big program) so as a parent you get to build great friendships. The 4 boys drafted top 10 in 2016 were all in the AFL Academy together and we all went on a NZ trip and know all the parents from there also.
But by his comments it sounded like he was already at Hawthorn and that's the only place he wants to be, (that's what they sounded like)
The deal seems inevitable now but until its signed you never know...

Take it easy , all the best whatever happen .

I have no doubt he could stick it out if need be.

Be honest he got told by stu he doesn't rate him an thinks he is lazy. Jack ain't staying.the suns were shopping him out mid year onwards. An isn't well liked .

Side note the culture up there is better then carlton's. And thats fact..

Well I for one thank you for your contributions over the last few months. Obviously I'd have loved it if he wanted to stick with us. But can't blame him for looking elsewhere . You're a lot closer to what's really happening than most of us and whilst you're going to defend your lad. (We all would if we were in the same boat)
Hope he gets where he wants to be and has a long successful career.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle with Scrim.
Yes he faced some adversity off field, but two other boys who went in the first round have lost parents and are interstate. At $400K you need to work through it.
And if what his dad said is correct that we sacked the psych and entire welfare dept with replacing them then we shoulder blame too.
In the end he seems happy to leave and us happy for him to leave.

The Scrimshaw thing and the enabling posts by Gromma are doing my head in.
When I think of young teachers/cops/nurses on entry level incomes in places like Moree, Wilcannia, Cloncurry etc in Little Dongas well away from family/friends because they have a Vocational Conviction and then read this self-Entitled weasely blame everyone but yourself whining about a young fella surrounded by people his own age with a truckload of Welfare officers and coaches on exceptional unbelievable money having to suffer living in......wait for it......THE GOLD COAST then it brings bedwetting to another incredible level. But I’ve now seen an insight into how it happens through enabling and the behaviour of other clubs by whispering sweet nothings in the ears of those susceptible to bedwetting....and it’s shameful.
Nothing has changed, we need young men of exceptional heart and loyalty that embrace being pioneers who want to create something way more special than the easy way of getting a premiership ring by jumping on a bandwagon and hiding behind the skirts of a big end of town VFL club.
Haha nice rant Bods. Men of exceptional heart and loyalty such as yourself yeah? This talk of bed wetting and whispering sweet nothings in ears gives me a weird image of what you get up to at night...hahaha...relax mate its only a game (and I am kidding with you, smile!)

Did he say don’t draft me when the suns were interviewing him?

Yeah I’m quite happy with the loyalty I’ve shown in all facets of my life till this point. It’s the building block of how I conduct myself and my choices.
My rant as you call it is a succinct summary of the current situation in the VFL and it’s destroying it’s own lofty ambitions of growth.
McLachlan needs to sort it out.

You and I are worlds apart on this. I just continue to be very disappointed in the pathway Jack Scrimshaw is headed down as Wednesday approaches and you just think it’s all good.
