If the club think he is cooked after his medical then they won't pick him up.Super nervous about the talk about Freeman. As per the below article about him not being able to hit the elite pace required in the AFL, hence him going well in the VFL but not being able to make the step up. Would be keen for Lonergon to get picked up again over Freeman, at 24 and without the serious injuries might have a bit more upside.

Absolutely zero chance the Crows do that.Just a little thought experiment, doubt it would happen in reality, but, would you choose:
A. Luko, Rankine and Rozee like Road to the Draft's mock draft.
B. Trade pick 3 to Adelaide for their three first rounders, take Luko, Rozee, Caldwell, Hately/Duursma (depending who lasts to 13) and McLennan.
I would but I doubt they would pay that much and we wouldn’t take less so can’t see it happeningJust a little thought experiment, doubt it would happen in reality, but, would you choose:

What about 8 and 13 for 6 if we thought we preferred Caldwell to RozeeI would but I doubt they would pay that much and we wouldn’t take less so can’t see it happening
Clubs tip Sam Walsh, Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine will be the first three selections called out next Thursday
As for the Suns’ third top-10 pick, Rozee and Caldwell are two names that continue to be linked with their Pick 6.
think mike Sheehan picked him at the end of the first round in the road to draft podcast. For anyone who wants to completely nerd out on the draft look at the AFL draft machine at AFL.com for heaps of player highlights.
A smokey for our picks in the 20s would be Tom Joyce from WA - was a gun mid as an under ager last year but didn't play much this year due to injury. Average height, average pace but just a good old fashioned footballer that can find it and then use it. I'm sure the Eagles would have him in their sights with their early picks.

Shifter knows his stuff. Was interesting to hear his little tidbits about players that I hadn’t heard elsewhere like Max King now standing at 204cm and other players histories over the last few years.Thi

Rated in the 3rd round on other phantoms
GOLD Coast's quest for senior experience has extended to discarded Collingwood utility Josh Smith.
While the Suns continue to contemplate acquiring delisted Saint Nathan Freeman, club officials met with Smith on Wednesday as he toured club facilities ahead of Friday's delisted free agent deadline.
Hailing from Queensland, Smith managed 32 games in three seasons at the Holden Centre before he was cut at season's end after just one match in 2018.
Playing his solitary AFL game in round one, the 24-year-old suffered two separate hamstring injuries in the first half of the season before spending much of the season in the VFL.
Switching to attack, Smith was named an emergency for the round 23 AFL win over before being overlooked for finals.
Smith arrived as a mature-age rookie in the summer of 2015, playing 18 games as a small defender in his debut season to finish seventh in the club's Copeland Trophy.
The Suns have been busy since the NAB AFL Trade Period, offloading Jarryd Lyons to Brisbane, while landing former Cat Jordan Murdoch as a delisted free agent.
And here is the article from the AFL site.

As someone who has watched Josh Smith a fair amount this year, he would be a very good pickup if they chose to offer him something. Even when he kept being overlooked, that didn't change his work rate. He was constantly our best in VFL form after his hamstring he acquired during the year. Such a professional, and with his experience, ability to find the ball, kick for goal and be all rounder in the middle; I only want the best for him and hope he is able to continue his career. Plus he is from QLD, that can't hurt either. in any case, I'll be keeping an eye on this progress and hopefully it all ends in good signs. I've recently developed a fondness for the suns, and if Josh gets picked out, it will reinforce that.
Might recall this game, interesting enough, was against the suns. Two years ago.
Yeah, he sure can. Certainly worse players out there than him. Could rookie him, I doubt he would mind one way or another just as long as he gets to play what he loves. Can kick the footy well , don't mind pre season or Rookie Draft .
Good they can have King his knee is farkqed
I remember Josh Smith tearing us a new one when we played Pies when we were severely undermanned towards the end of the 2016 season. Seemed like a player on the rise then.
He is a reasonable player, a QLD guy and would rather take less of a chance on him than rolling the dice on a bloke whose hamstrings have held together by tissue paper.
He would provide another option as a small defender with a good kick & rebound. After Harbrow & Joyce (who is still a bit inconsistent), Smith could be a handy back up on our list.
Who’s better out of Josh Smith and Jessie Joyce?
