Newman averages more inside 50s than rebound 50s at both levels. He is a utility and midfield capable. It's far too simplistic to call either Lloyd or Newman just half back flankers.

You wouldn't think so it's not even close to trade period so we won't hear much for ages.

My thought is we go for experience to fix our issue with outside spread and go to the draft to find a freakishly talented big bull inside mid or two as they never come easy or cheap via trade.

Newman is out of contract isn't he? Should make it easier, also helps Newman isn't a starting 22 player, so should be relatively cheap.

Yeah I agree would be nice. Next time you watch Brodie, tell me he couldn't be Josh Kennedy from Swans if he applies himself to his career. I reckon he would be handy as well

Newman played the initial part of his Swans NEAFL career as a halfback flanker but since last year he's been mostly an inside midfielder, with some games as an outside midfielder/winger.

I watch him at every chance in the NEAFL. I don't think I'm a footy wizard but he looks lethargic to me. I'm not a huge fan tbh. I totally hope and expect to be proven wrong.

That’s what I thought until Dew was asked about Lloyd , he said it’s the first he heard of it , so I guess we can put that rumour to bed.

I maybe wrong but I find it very hard to see that may leaves considering he moved his family from nt to Gold Coast last year and bought them a house so I’d doubt he’d up and move them again

Getting both the kings wont help with retention I think we could end up in a worse situation, if one gets homesick I reckon we would loose both of them. I would prefer smith and Walsh with 2 & 3 we have a fair bit of KPP depth but not 1 A grade midfielder on the list which both those boys should become

I think Richmond, WB, and Collingwood this year have shown that if you have an elite midfield, you dont need to be stocked up on Key forwards and im pretty confident that Thompson and Leslie can, at the very least hold their own.
We need midfielders much more than we need KPP's. Walsh/Smith/Rankine please and thanks
