That's fine we all have different opinions.
Sydney don't gift games to anybody so must mean something that Lloyd is the fastest swan to 100 games.
It's also been reported Swans have offered Lloyd a new contract but he's turned them down twice now because they don't have any money left in the cap

Lloyd kind of looks like a guy who would rate his own performance higher than collective opinion.

He plays a Rory Laird role, although I don't think he's actually a great defender.
Laird seems to rarely lose 1 on 1 contests but Lloyd got out-duelled a couple of times on the weekend.
Don't think he really helps them win a huge amount.

Our defence at the moment

JJ Thompson Richa
KK May Ah Chee

Think Lloyd could come in rather than Richa.. although who plays the lockdown role on gun small forwards? JJ? That makes me a bit nervous.

Wouldn't be throwing huge cash his way, but if we get him his precision kicking would certainly be useful

"Lynch will likely depart and there's talk Swallow is also looking to exit"

Just read this in the 9 things we learnt article on AFL website.
I don't really follow all the trade talks etc.. first time I've heard this mentioned though. Is this something that people are talking about?

It came from a Jon Ralph article where he couldn’t think of anything to write that day

In my opinion the worst article he ever wrote and I know that’s a massive call

Big call take away Harbrow and put in Joyce .

He's contracted, his brother just moved to GC this year to be with him and there are no sources attributed to the story.

We would have to be crazy to trade him this year - would only get a 2nd rd pick. If he leaves in FA next year chances are you could get 1st rd FA compo which would likely be a top 10 pick.

That's a massive call - this is Jon Ralph we are talking about. His brand is to write utter garbage on a consistent basis.

Sorry mate, but "you noticed him a bit" .........only a bit.....and that is someone we need !!!!!
We'll just have to see. Good to have opposing opinions in here but I want him. We are lacking run hardcore.

Fair comment and that's what's good about this forum, but I have doubts. Why hasn't he been offered a contract "worthy" of his valuation of himself. I believe he's another downhill skier, and while his foot skills are above average, I don't think he would satisfy Stewie's defensive requirements. Does well in a Sydney environment, but how would he cope here over the next 2 yrs......Malceski anyone!

How old Malceski when he arrived ? Very different getting in 31 years old with a flag compare to 25 years player.

While I agree that bringing in starting value players, I should point out that the Suns Academy and Zones have produced buttloads of defenders and this year's top 3 prospects are defenders. Bailey Scott will likely be a flanker until he gets a bit of muscle and experience. Caleb Graham and Dirk Koenen are both CHBs and we've already got a really good one of them. My prediction is that they'll both be tried out in attack and defence, but the point here is that we are covered in defence. Hanley, Harbrow, KK, JJ, Thompson, Leslie, May, Ballard, Weller, Spencer, Bowes, and Scrimshaw make a pretty intimidating defensive corps.

We only have 1 downhill skier at the club, who may be quicker than Lloyd but has terrible foot skills and no defensive game.

I imagine Dew would have input on a trade for a player so if a deal is done you have to assume that he has a role in Dew's game plan.

Based on that list no need to draft anything but forwards and players that can play inside the contest

Lyons, Swallow, Touk, Brodie, Ainsworth, Fiorini...

The midfield stock is starting to fill out a bit.

Probably still short 2 top quality midfielders, but the skeleton is starting to come together. If Lynchy leaves, I would be taking one of Lukosious or Walsh and Smith with my first 2 picks if we were to stay 17th.

Scott, Graham and Koenen are required players. Other than that, I don't really see defenders going in the Top 5 where we'll have between 1 and 3 picks, depending on Lynch and a priority pick. If we went for Ben King, he plays in defence and attack, so no drama. We obviously need to use an early pick on a tall forward and I'm all in for Izak Rankine, who I actually rate as the best player full stop, so that would be how I'd use 2 Top 5 picks. Sam Walsh and Jack Lukosius are good, but we might not have an early enough pick to snag either of them.

After yesterday, there's no knowing where the Suns will finish on the ladder. With garbage %, 17th is still possible even with 2 more victories, but if the Lions shut down shop now that they've proven they can mix it with the big boys, they could really make us pay for late season success. Even St Kilda could lose out and force us into 3rd or 4th last.

You need utility or Balanced Mid . Sam Walsh and Bailey Smith areare two that can play Inside and outside . As for Koenan and Graham let see did they get invited for National Combine or state combine .

Something about Bailey Smith makes me dislike him. I could definitely see him being another peaheart and demanding to go home after 2 years. I don't know why. I just don't like his face. Another line of strategy that I'm stealing from SunnerSS is to pick 2 kids from the same place like we did with Touk and 2MP. One or both of the Kings and Smith. 2 or 3 South Australians would work to.

Another consideration is live trading. Let's say Brisbane want Sam Walsh desperately and we have the pick. Or Adelaide needs to give us #8 and #19 for #2 to get Lukosius. Port will have a late 1st and early second to play with. If you're in a position to force an opponent to pay overs you have to weigh up whether investing in next year's draft is going to bring greater benefits than just taking what's on offer now. Another school of thought is that we should go all in and bring in 5 classy Draftees in one hit like we did in 2016 with all the picks we consolidated from trading away our best players.

Screw that! We are going to get 9 wins for the season and come home with a wet sail, pick #6 is ours!
I actually don't mind pick 6, less pressure getting the wrong one . Hately and Rozee look ok also .

What gave you that impression? I didn't get that at all.

Every kid supports a team before being drafted.

Whether he leaves Victoria or not he won't be at the Hawks next year.
I agree , just my guess that when you ask what give people that impression .

He is hardcore hawthorn fan.
I'm only going on seeing him play once, 12 days ago. Haven't had much time to form an opinion. I'm probably way off.

You have just given me two compelling and opposing feelings. First, I don't hate his face anymore, but I did when I saw him on TV before I even knew who he was. Second, he goes for the poo and wees, now I hate him.
