Jenkins was pretty fantastic tonight. Has consistently been one of the best tall forwards in the AFL for the last three years.

But we're not giving you pick 8, pick 11, Atkins and Jenkins and just getting pick 2. Get real ...
Just lost all credibility with that statement about Jenkins.

Some here severely underrate Jenkins. Yes he'll never be your number 1 forward... although he did pants Rance earlier this year, no small feat. And with his age wouldn't want to pay a lot for him. But if he was keen to come I'd take him. 2MP likely to get the number 1 defender. Jenkins to get the number 2 tall. Also his work rate is huge. He doesn't get the gimme goals by luck.. We works up the ground taking a defender with him. Then charges back to the goalsquare. Some might call them cheap. But he earns them .
No doubt I’d take him as a big body who would take a talk defender and stop 2mp getting double teamed.
Not sure if his style of play works with dews game plan.
I’d love for us to move the ball quickly but we don’t

Jack Newness been down on his form this year
Bigger body
Footywire says out of contract end of 2019
He fits St Kildas age profile so not sure they would want to get rid of him but could be a possible buy low type acquisition.

Also Dom Sheed
Can't hold his spot in West Coasts line up

I don't really like him as a player.. just hacks the ball forward with no direction..a problem for our midfield already..
But if could get him for a cheap price then could be a bigger body to protect some of the younger guys.
Only 23 so West Coast probably not willing to let him go

These kind of options we should be ask the question though

Jake Neade..
Has deficiencies but addresses what we don't actually have.. a crumbing small forward.
Lyons / Sexton / Ainsworth are on the lead or running back toward goal style players,
Lemmens provides decent pressure but can't finish

Only played 7 games this year but ranked 1st in f50 tackles/game
Averaging about a goal a game

Out of contract end of the season
Could pick him up for next to nothing you'd think

Neade is absolutely horrible

Jenkins and Neade :'(

The cupboard is bare indeed if these are who we’ve been reduced to discussing as recruiting options.

I'm not saying these guys should be primary targets
But possible cheaper gets

Seriously though,
Having big tall forwards you would expect the ball to come to ground most times.
We don't have anyone who is an effective rover in the forward line.

I would say Jack Martin is the best with this important attribute.
The problem is he flies for every mark as well.

I do think a crumbing forward would add something to our forward line.

Wow Hahahaha :drunk:
Jenkins is trash he plays on the 3rd sometimes 4th best defender and pinches all his goal from his teammates hard work by always sitting in the goal square looking for a cheap handball over the top
Have you watched AFL in the last two years?

A couple of years ago, Jenkins was getting some goals over the back because of the speed of the Crows rebound and the fact that he is a lot more athletic than the vast majority of key defenders that have stood on him.

Hasn't happened much in the last 18 months, because teams don't press up as far on us any more, which we've struggled to overcome. We've become a goals from stoppage team, which is not what you want.

Jenkins has mostly gotten the second tall defender of the opposition. Most sides have two decent talk defenders. And even then - no defender just stands on guy all game. It's not 1986.

Jenkins has kicked 45+ goals consistently over the last few years, and that's very rare.

Mate Jenkins has zero value , He will be 30 years old next year and never gets the best defender and chokes when its his turn as well as being on big dollars
He would be whats described as steak knives at best
The only people that think Jenkins has no value are nuffies that sit in the outer yelling "kick it!" and "man up!".

Lol.

Jenkins is a big body, athletic and fast. He can clunk a mark and kick a goal. Not sure who wouldn't want that.

If we're trading for Lukosius, we have to trade a tall forward to make room. Otherwise, he stays.

Yikes, seriously??

List clogger. You'd have 35 players better than him already.

I said I would take him - he would be beneficial to our team.
I, however, disagree whole heartedly that he is 'one of the best key forwards in the game' as you put it

I would have him comfortably below these blokes not taking into account injury / suspension

Hawkins
Franklin
Kennedy
Lynch
Cameron
Daniher
Hogan
T Mac
Curnow
Dixon
Riewoldt
Brown
Walker

Yeah.
Admittedly scraping the barrel.
He would not be the worst player on our list though
We don't have any crumbing small forwards

I'm probably influenced by his good play against us
- 14 possessions, 4 tackles
- 15 possessions, 9 tackles, 2 goals
- 14 possessions, 7 tackles
- 10 possessions, 2 goals

I'd consider it if we could get him for nothing.

Well, probably fair enough.

But check out how many tall forwards are kicking 40 or more goals. It's a good list to be on

If you listen to him Jenkins is once a generation player not a player hitting 30 coming to an end , we are fine for key forwards Day , Wright , crossley , maybe Lokcious or Graham .

C'mon.

I have never said Jenkins is a once in a generation player.

He's 30, but he doesn't have many miles on his legs, so he probably has three to four more years in him.

He's behind Wright. But he's better than Crossley and Day. The results speak for themselves on that. He's not the player that Lukosius will become - but is Jenkins and say Bailey Smith better for you guys than drafting Lukosius?

It's not Jenkins fault the media tried to make him a star he's a better than average player.

Funny thing is that people somehow forget that Jenkins would have to agree to move to GC. Why would he do that? Crows will be most probably back to top next year. He would be stupid to leave with a chance to win it all and a couple of years left in his career.

Lukosius being the next Josh Jenkins is not a stunning endorsement for a player the next big thing in the comp , Crossley progression will have him ahead of an ageing Jenkins soon enough with an improving team around him.
