That’s not who Clayton picksCharlie Curnow /Burton /Doedee / Rioli instead of Ah Chee
Sam Menegola instead of Schoenfeld
Nathan Broad instead of Willis .
GC should look more bigger interm of body strength instead of skinny kids.
Melbourne will erect a bronze statue of Scott Clayton one day outside the G. Destroyed this club.Does anyone have the nuts and bolts of why our 2015 draft was so appalling?
When you see a 21yo beast like Oliver eating our skinny bones today it makes you a bit cockeyed

We also need to find some gold lower in the draft & rookie draft as there will be a massive turnover in the next 2-3 years.Watching today’s game these skinny kids Clayton drafted looked slow against the dees
Well Cameron will definitely have his chance to prove his worth... His going to have picks 2 and 3 to the draft. If we can trade some some of those end of first round & beginning of second rounders for an additional top 10 pick then we have the chance of 3 early first round picks plus the academy kids.
Jye Bolton would be a decent fit but I just don’t think the Suns will get better with another one dimensional inside midfielder. You won’t always have the spine of your side out injured and Lyons/Swallow/Brodie/Walsh(assuming he’s drafted here) will probably be more than enough for next season in terms of personnel.I really hope GC find some mature body players in the state league for this year draft.

I honestly think just some Daniel Cross type recruitments would be enough; super hard working people who can just consolidate the training standards at the club. Jarrad McVeigh, Jarryd Roughead, David Mundy would all fit that criteria pretty well although I’m not sure if those guys are still out of contract. Give them a good one year deal; hodge is clearly helping the young lions out a lot.
I agree Clayton try to get the academy players at lower range (18 years old ) instead of Mature age players and in the end you end up with everybody at 18 years old with skinny body .I just hope the new list manager in Cameron is okay with taking the obvious selection. I didn't hate Clayton but I felt like he always tried to be too clever for his own good with early picks sometimes.

Jenkins was recruited from Townsville. He lived in Queensland in his teens and would be a fantastic addition to the club, especially with Lynch gone. A strong marking, big bodied goal kicking forward would really suit the Suns.jenkins is shit
only good in a good team
Jenkins is in career best form and playing like a key forward. Would only let go if it helped get Lukosius.Jenkins was recruited from Townsville. Disagree. Big time. There are so many players in the 18 to 23 yo age bracket at the Suns that you really have to put extra preseasons into them before deciding to delist. We also need to find some gold lower in the draft & rookie draft as there will be a massive turnover in the next 2-3 years.
Depends on whether you want Rankine or Lukosius. I like Jenkins and I think he would be a good role model for our developing forwards.Jenkins is in career best form and playing like a key forward. Would only let go if it helped get Lukosius.
I.e Pick 8 + Jenkins + 2019 second for Pick 2.

Yeah we need to use pick 2 and 3 in the draft. That’s a fair trade, however I wouldn’t entertain that at all. Suns should take picks 2 (Walsh) and 3 (Rankine). Trade up the draft with West Coast first rounder and priority pick and hope one of the king boys drop out of the top 10. Then hope we get out Scott for a steal.
I say forget trading pick 2 or 3. Wright + Day will be fine. Wright + May even better. Backup Crossley, Graham, Koenan, Ballard. Pick 2+3 = Walsh + Rankine or Lukosius + Rankine. 2 more midfielders with pick 17 (Eagles), priority pick and Scott.Depends on whether you want Rankine or Lukosius. I think the Suns would want to know who you’re picking because I personally think Rankine has more upside and that is assuming Carlton don’t pick him because he’s IMHO he’s the best player in the Draft. Man I hope he becomes a Sun.

I think this is what we need to do to break the cycle of being young, inexperienced and lacking resilience. By persisting with Leslie and Lonergan, now each only 23, our list may not have more potential talent in a couple of years, but it should be more physically resilient, experienced, and we will get to see if these blokes can mature into decent footballers to help with depth if nothing else. Currently these blokes are just thrown in when the side is already in disarray. A 26 year old Leslie or Lonergan with 70-100 games under their belt is going to be infinitely more valuable and better player than an 18 year old rookie. We do need to turn over players, but it is so important we get it right this time, both with our early picks, our later picks, and our decisions on who we retain.Disagree. Big time. I see people here judging Jack Leslie, who played in a backline without May or Thompson and the got thrown into a forward line without Lynch or Wright. Nobody would succeed in that scenario, yet people are advocating getting rid of our backup key defender!
Heaps of people have written off Lonergan, but with Swallow and Miller in the midfield in the first quarter last week he was immense until Spitta went off injured. Nobody can carry a whole game on their shoulders, but Lonergan was a major part of the midfield dominance and has a role to play in the future.
Tough job after five. Barlow, Rosa, Willis, Hall, Lynch, Lonergan (we should keep him I think), Rischitelli (he should retire but it looks like it will not happen). Graham, Koenan hopefully at least one of them on rookie list. We could re-draft Lonergan as rookie. So if we do as you suggest and pick up 7 players who you thinking of delisting?

The other issue is MacPherson needs to be upgraded or delisted. Was playing well at the start of year... Max Spencer is going into his last year too... the rookie list needs reviewing as well.
