Looking at the fixture we will deff finish above the Saints, if we win this weekend against Carlton. They won’t win another game looking at who they have left to play. Also our game against Brisbane will be the battle of picks 3 and 4 whoever wins will end up with pick 4 as a reward.

I think you’re right, but the lions might pull out another win to keep us with pick 3 even if we beat them.

Saints have every chance to win at least one more game. They play Bulldogs, North even against Hawks they have a chance.

Really they hope they do haha, in the top 6-7 kids this year the couple we really need may both be gone by pick 4 in Walsh, luko and Smith. Hoping we don’t go down the king or kings path and even Rankine is a masssive risk

Why is Rankine a big risk? He’s a genuinely good player who will set the AFL on fire. The Kings are only on our radar if Lynch goes, while you’ll find that a lot of other talent is going to be tied up.

Why people so obsessed with pick 2 after a shock win , if GC get pick 6 and 7 and drafted King Twins , can always use other pick for midfielder ,no guarantee Koenan and Graham will get pick at all in ND draft , not all club are rebuilding and delisting 8-9 players this years and replace with 18 years old KPP body no matter how high you rated them internally . Every club will need to delist their backup eg Leslie,Spencer , to allocate list spots.

All Club will be maximized Rookie B for their NGA academy kids .

If we end up finishing with 4th and 5th picks and let's say that Lukosius, Walsh and Smith were off the board, and you considered Rankine too much of a flight risk, I think in that case I could be persuaded to have a good look at the King twins as it would be a fair drop off to the next tier of players (Hill, Rozee, Hately).

That’s exactly my point! This years draft is rated as very very good in the top picks 1-6 after that it drops off considerably and 2 of those top 6 picks are the king twins being KPP. If the top few mids are gone by our pick we may end up going for the kings as I’m sure Cameron would be picking on best available talent even though in my opinion they would be the smallest need on our list and will take the longest time to develop and we all know what happens with top draft picks when they are playing in the NEAFL developing for a few years at the suns, the big Vic clubs come calling especially for Vic Metro talent.

Yeah pretty much reiterating what you were saying above.

In an ideal world there will be live draft trading coming in this year (apparently still being considered) and you could have a back up plan lined up with a few clubs to trade down slightly to get the value you want in the areas we need.

I'm thinking that we probably won't move down any further than 3 and 4 as the Lions are playing some good footy now and I would expect them to beat us and at least 1 other team on the way home. Whereas I could see the Saints not winning another game. All depends on the Saints v Bulldogs game.

jeremy mcgovern another player to turn his back on free agency and re-sign with His club west coast for 5 years now over to you Lynch

We are no certainty to beat Carlton and or the lions. I hope we do as a winning culture means more than a draft pick but in an ideal world the Saints and lions would win and couple each too so we get pick 2 and possibly 3.
Gold Coast will beat Carlton 100% even if they dont tank but history tells us they will make sure they dont win

SOS has no more assets to sell and the only way he can get multiple picks in the 1st round is to trade #1 and thats what he will do, That Club is famous for this type of thing

Nothing is certain , even if they win against GC they still at the bottom with two win.

Carlton are certain to win wooden spoon no matter what happens this week.
We are desperate for running midfields doesn't matter whether inside or outside players.
Would not take King brothers will take too long to become influential players -one did his knee early this year
don't need any more players in medical room -space is limited.
I would be happy to recruit Lloyd for a fair price =would respect Dews call on this trade.

Would the Suns be looking at this kid or is he to much of a flight risk ?
And do we already have enough of this type of player ?

Hi guys pardon the intrusion. Just curious to know how many list changes you guys think you will make this off season?

I noticed you have 2 x 1st rounders, 2 x 2nd rounders and 2 x 3rd rounders, so 6 draft picks, plus whatever you get for Lynch should he leave.

We need a 2nd rounder for points to put towards Rhylee West but Carlton have ours this year.

Wondering if we will look to trade our 2019 2nd rounder for one of your 2nd rounders this year - I believe you have Essendons and Geelongs.

Don’t see us finishing much higher than 12th next season so while the net result won’t be much, it benefits us so that we don’t have to go into points deficit and it benefits you if you don’t want to make massive list changes this year and remove guys from your list to make way for the draft picks.

Of course if you are planning massive delistings this season that’s a different story.

Hahaha - do we have a player like him? No (Jack Martin is in the same class but Rankine is more a pure forward)

If you back your Club's culture and he's there at pick 3 or 4 then it is pretty much a no brainer to get him as he is the most talented / dynamic kid in the last 5 years to come out of the draft.

Might be a chance something like this happens as I'm skeptical there will be massive delistings as a lot of the players I would delist have signed multi-year contracts.

We have a couple academy boys that we may only need a 2nd and a 3rd pick for so could see a couple of picks being swapped for later year picks, subject to whether those picks are needed to get deals done for any potential trade in of senior players.

yes he's talented and dynamic and great to watch but he goes missing a lot in matches and is a terrible set shot on goal.
We already have Martin Ainsworth ah Chee Powell sexton Lemmens and Baru and Greenwool coming through the academy.

It would be a big risk I wouldn't use our first selection on him

Very Likely , I can't see GC delisting more than 6 ( including Rookie ) .

Out: Lynch, Willis, Hall, Rosa, Barlow, Rischitelli?, Jaska?, Lonergan?, Leslie?, Nutting?, Wigg?

In: 3 picks 1st round, 3 academy (Scott?, Koenan, Graham), 1-2 mature players? (Lloyd, McVeigh,...), possibly more academy players? Baru, ...

A couple of surprises.

We did not use 1 category B rookie this year.

Everybody will be filling up Cat B with their academy players this year a backup for long term injuries . Eg if nobody bid on Jarrod Cameron in ND draft he will automatically go to Eagles as Rookie B , same as Port Frederick ,Bulldog Khamis .
GC need some strategy prepare for ( Graham ,Koenan) .

Cant see us getting rid of Nutting, Jaska and Wigg after one season, especially after all 3 have had injury troubles.
