C'mon.

I have never said Jenkins is a once in a generation player.

He's 30, but he doesn't have many miles on his legs, so he probably has three to four more years in him.

He's behind Wright. But he's better than Crossley and Day. The results speak for themselves on that. He's the player that Lukosius will become - but is Jenkins and say Bailey Smith better for you guys than drafting Lukosius?
No Jenkins please. Wright, Day, Crossley, Graham, possibly Lukosius will be just fine. Ballard and Koenan could play tall forward too in crisis. And what about May? He was fantastic in the last quarter against Blues when moved forward. Leslie/Thompson/Day would be fine in defence. We need our midfield to lift.

Midfield should be our main focus with our top 10 picks, This talk of the king twins is crazy. Why the hell would we invest in them and then wait another 3-4 years before they may be ready when after a few years in the Neafl they will want to go home for more opportunities hahaha. Our absolute priority at the pointy end should be mids or lukosius if he is there as I reckon he could easily play next year and really impact like he is in the SANFL this year

I don't think he is good fit into any rebuild team like GC , Carlton , Fremantle team. Put him into Hawthorn , Geelong even North type of team Jenkins will be good. Just use other sport as an example Messi look great with Barcelona but not with Argentina , Shevchenko look great with Milan but not Chelsea . AFL - Clark look ok with Brisbane but a total spud with Melbourne and Geelong , slyvia look ok with demon but another fail with Fremantle.

Lukosius being the next Josh Jenkins is not a stunning endorsement for a player the next big thing in the comp , Crossley progression will have him ahead of an ageing Jenkins soon enough with an improving team around him.

Yeah, I went back and edited that. I meant to say he's NOT the player that Lukosius will become.

keep dreaming 30 year old 3rd foward just getting easy joe the goose goals
good luck with that

but interested in your opinion of his value
Third forward? Wot?

And the only folks that think Jenkins gets Joe the Goose goals are nuffies that rely on David King for their footy opinions. Watch a game, FFS.

At this rate i think we need to focus on hiring a witch doctor or a shaman to remove the injury curse we have has lasted for 4 years and there is no point trading in even average players if they are always injured.

Gold Coast CEO Mark Evans threatens court action if managers are telling players not to go to Suns

GOLD Coast Suns chief executive Mark Evans has threatened to take player managers to court if they are telling players not to move to the Queensland club.
The Suns, languishing near the bottom of the ladder for another season, look likely to receive two picks in the top three of the draft this year — their own natural selection and compensation for the exit of Tom Lynch.

Last Monday, suggestions surfaced in the Herald Sun that agents were not keen on their players heading to Gold Coast.

“Leading player agents have told the Herald Sun they would block any attempts to trade their players up north due to the club’s flailing on-field prospects,” the report said.

Adding to that, premiership coach Mick Malthouse told ABC Grandstand he had heard of players telling managers they do not want to go to the Suns.

“Managers have been told by potential recruits for next year, I do not want to go to Gold Coast. Let me just say, that is a fact. I know several players who have indicated that,” Malthouse said.

Evans responded strongly to those suggestions in a pre-match interview before Gold Coast’s clash with Melbourne.

“We’ve had some of the top draft picks come through our facility in the last month. Never had one of them say they wouldn’t come to the Gold Coast,” he told ABC Grandstand.

“If there are people out there, managers who are prepared to get up on radio and say don’t go to the Gold Coast, we’ll have them in court as quick as we can.

“I can guarantee you most kids want to start their career, and if you’re a top draft pick, draft hopeful, you’re going to go to one of the bottom four or five clubs.

“The only thing I can think where this might have come from, is there are some kids and some families that have a preference not to travel interstate. But I’ve yet to hear someone say directly to me, ‘don’t come to the Gold Coast’.

“Tell them to get on the radio and put their balls on the line on radio, and then I’ll smash them in the court.”

On last Monday’s edition of On the Couch, Sydney premiership coach Paul Roos said he was concerned with these suggestions.

“That’s concerning guys. I reckon that’s got brushed over too easily, that’s player agents who are directing players where to go,” Roos said.

“So if you’re talking about resetting and I agree with you boys, but I don’t think you can go and get more young kids into that footy club, but if player agents are going to refuse to let their players go and play there, that’s an AFL issue.

“If I’m Gil, I’m straight on the phone to those leading player agents to say, hang on what about this — anti-tampering and what have you, that’s a concern and I’m not criticising the player agents or the players, but that’s damning for a footy club.

“That’s a damning statement.”

Love evans passion and anger over this its largely ignored by the Vic media. This is a serious problem in the AFL if true.

He'll be VERY good for us next year.

I don't doubt it either... just the fact that anyone with potential or anyone who shows form seems to get injured.... Charlie Ballard is the most recent example. Just seems like a never ending nightmare sometimes.... We just need a relatively injury free season so we can at least try to build something.

Even better is that he's kept himself in ripping shape this time during his rehab. Unlike when he arrived at the club overweight. I think he's going to smash pre-season and play round 1 for us next year assuming he doesn't break down.

I know it's crazy but most injuries this year are contacts . Ballard actually attempted tackle when injured. Today's injury to 2MP - you can't prevent it. We are definitely overdue for better luck next year.

Was at today’s game... Leslie has to be delisted at the end of the year... he is awful 5 years is enough. A good pre season for blokes like Powell, Fiorini, Brodie and they won’t be so easily knocked off the ball. Saw a lot of heart out there today so have faith that we are heading in the right direction.

Saw enough of Brodie to said I am wrong about him , injuries free should play every game next year . Too good to be playing NEAFL ,don't waste time doing that .

Agreed Brodie will only get bigger and stronger during the preseason. If we could get him some help this draft period then 2-3 years down the track we could do what the demons did to us today.

Does anyone have the nuts and bolts of why our 2015 draft was so appalling?
When you see a 21yo beast like Oliver eating our skinny bones today it makes you a bit cockeyed

They are playing AFL game regularly , GC either in rehab or NEAFL .

Ummm- Ah Chee Fiorini Schoenfeld and Willis
I'd take Fiorini again at 20 - but no-one's giving you pick 8 for Ah Chee today and the other 2 will be footnotes to an era of bad picks and bad outcomes when our Club history is writ

Give it 2 years Fiorini might be the only one on our list. I’m hoping that the 2016 afl draft crop is like the 2001 afl draft for the Cats

Charlie Curnow /Burton /Doedee / Rioli instead of Ah Chee
Sam Menegola instead of Schoenfeld
Nathan Broad instead of Willis .

GC should look more bigger interm of body strength instead of skinny kids.
