yeh, Rankine is a flight risk, trade your No 3 for Ports first 2 which will be our 1st and north's 1st. we get Rankine and you get 2 pretty good picks
Nah, North will take Polec in the PSD for free.

Come on no shit fight between Port vs Adelaide for pick 3 , can always come with good offer from both club and let GC decide who's the winner .

Is it extortion to tell Sydney we will bid on Blakey unless they give us Nic Newman for nothing?

Sydney bid on Jack Bowes when it looked like the Suns might have been able to grab another kid and match whatever bid they eventually got for Bowes later with points from the 2017 Draft. Brad Scheer and a Lachie Waller would disagree, but the Swans forced our hand and that breach should not be forgotten.

I have joked about it and fantasized about it, but I’m seeing a future for Andrew Gaff at the Suns. He can’t stay at the Eagles because Brayshaw’s Brother is there and playing 2 games vs the Dockers will just bring the incident to the fore again. His main suitor in Melbourne is the Demons, but they have a Brayshaw Brother too. North Melbourne were interested to, the former club of the Brayshaw boys Dad, Mark, and Uncle James. That leaves the Saints and anyone left with A cool million in their cap. Suns have to be looking like an increasingly good option for Gaff and his management. Watch this space...

Won’t happen, way too optimistic

I'd give them pick 2 and their first rounder back

Many of his options are souring. Take out the 2 WA clubs and 2 Vic clubs I named, then you can remove the 2 SA clubs and 2 NSW clubs because there’s no way those clubs have cap space.

Hawks, Pies and Tigers claim to have cap space, but we know they don’t have Trade space.

In fact, the clubs chasing Lynch might need to go through West Coast to get him if we match their bids and force them to the trade table.

How badly do the Suns want Gaff?

So are we going to draft Sam Collins as our full back for next season? Just checked his VFL stats, having a decent season.

Thompson & Collins down back.

May & Wright up forward.

I just can’t stomach the thought of Casboult
We've apparently been talking to him. Both us and Carlton.

Imagine the damage Ashcroft would of done if he was still in charge when live trading come in

HOW WILL LIVE TRADING WORK?

The full details are still to be worked around. But at this stage, clubs will be able to trade picks but no players will be exchanged.

So what deals do we expect to happen? Adelaide and Port Adelaide potentially could be two big players in the live trading, with the South Australian Under 18 team possibly boasting five players that could be selected in the first round of the 2018 AFL Draft.

Key forward Jack Lukosius has been compared to St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt by some AFL scouts, while exciting small forward Izak Rankine can produce moments of brilliance that few others have shown in their draft years in the last few years.

Both players project to be likely top five selections and both South Australian clubs would be keen to get them on their books. But considering both clubs will have later first-round picks, how could they do it?

Instead of exchanging picks during trade week, the two clubs could leave their advances to the last minute and exchange picks during the live draft.

As the ladder currently stands, Gold Coast holds Pick 2 and will likely received Pick 3 as part of the Tom Lynch compensation. After the Lynch compensation, Adelaide would hold Picks 8, 16 and 20. But Port Adelaide could also end up with North Melbourne’s first-round selection (Pick 10) in exchange for wingman Jared Polec, who’s rumoured to be considering a move to Victoria. In this scenario, they’ll have Picks 13 and 23.

The Crows likely have more leverage than the Power, but Port can’t be discounted being part of the trading bonanza in an attempt to collect Lukosius or Rankine.

Carlton, which currently has Pick 1, could draft Vic Country midfielder Sam Walsh with the opening pick, leaving South Australians Lukosius and Rankine on the board for Adelaide and Port Adelaide to consider.

Adelaide could theoretically speak to the Suns on draft night and offer them all of, or a combination of, Picks 8, 16 and 20, as well as another potential juicy selection acquired from a rival club, in return for the Suns’ Pick 2.

That trade would then help them claim Lukosius or Rankine, which could help them launch back into finals after a disappointing 2018.

The Suns could then have Picks 3, 8, 16, 18 and 20, with the five selections helping them gain hopefully a strong group of players for the future as the club looks to jump into finals since its introduction into the AFL.

Need a few list spots for all those picks

If gaff wanted to stay at west coast pretty sure Tey would just offload Ainsworth I’d that was perceived as a main reason he couldn’t stay

Would love him.
Let’s not forget this is his first ‘elite’ Year.
Always been in say top 50 players but this year playing like top 10.

Collins was good for freo and seemed a surprise when he was delisted. All for picking him up.

I like Collins but signing him up for two years deal worried me if he don't perform , Rookie Draft Carlton will get him as pick 1. There are other options in other state league espcially from SA . I hope GC take a risk and let him go to Carlton and not pick him up in ND draft . Collins only worth a rookie pick like Holman and not ND draft .

Why Wow ? Get scrap and turn them into something usesable . Is not like there is any decent KPF on GC list . 2mp injured , Crossley lack tank , Sam Day average , Witts can't kick a goal around 25-30 m .
